KAJUN KUSTOM PAINTING

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! First of all when Joe Jacobs gave me the estimate he said that he could start on the following Monday and be finished by Friday at the latest. Perfect, because we were moving in on Saturday. We signed the contract and gave him 1/2 ($3000.00) on Monday morning (the morning he was to start) and he promptly disappeared and didn't answer his phone for 4 days! I went by the house on Thursday midmorning and guess who pulls in finally ready to work? His excuse was that the place he got his paint only had 1 person to mix the paint and they were sick. He said that he would have 5 guys there the next day and that they would work through the weekend to catch up and be finished by the following Wednesday. So I postpone the movers until the next Thursday. Friday I stopped by and only 2 guys are there, and they left at 3pm. Also, they were painting the walls without painting the ceilings first. They said that they were told not to paint the ceilings. Mind you that there are several large drywall patched in nearly every room where we removed old speakers and lights and the living room ceiling is nearly 20 ft tall and vaulted.We also discussed the color of the ceiling and that they had already been textured, so he wouldn't have to do that step before he painted, when he was giving us the estimate I call the office # and Joe's wife tells me that ceilings weren't on the contract. I told her "why do you think you were hired? If I only wanted the walls painted I would have done them myself! Your husband quoted the ceilings when he was doing the estimate!" she says "that he didn't tell her to put them on the contract so they are not included, he'll have to call you" Saturday at noon, still no painters. We call and Joe says that they are just going to come on Monday, but they will be finished by Wednesday so we could move, don't worry. He also says that he will meet with us on Monday to discuss the ceiling situation. Monday, ONE guy shows up, and Joe never does, also not a single room has been finished yet. I cancel the movers AGAIN. Tuesday, 2 painters show up. Joe finally shows up that afternoon and my husband goes to meet him. We offer to trade the master bath wallpaper removal and painting for the ceiling situation($500.00 labor cost) He says no, he will trade the master bedroom because it's going to be more work that he originally thought and he would have to CHARGE US MORE to do it.We informed him of Louisiana Law that does not allow you to do that, and to just stick to the contract and do what he was contracted to do, we'll just do the ceilings ourselves. Next day I arrive to find the painters PAINTING OVER the wallpaper. They said that Joe told them to do it that way because it was cheaper. I told them the contract said the wallpaper was to be removed. They call Joe and he says do it his way. My husband calls and Joe started yelling that that was how he was doing it. We are firing him tomorrow & will probably have to sue to get our $
