Auto Tires
My husband blew the head gasket in his 1998 jeep. We took it to target tire for the repairs. We were initially told that if the head was not cracked it would be $600 or less. My husband went in on Friday to talk to them about it and Gary (who apparently runs the heavy mechanic shop in the back) told him there were a couple burnt valves that needed repair. My husband asked what that would cost and Gary said that since the head was not cracked it should be around $650 maybe $700 total. When we went to get the jeep on Tuesday we were told that the total was almost 1300 dollars. The counter staff told us to see Gary in the back. When we talked to Gary he said he does not control the bill, they do that up front. So, we went up front and were told that was a bold faced lie. Our impression is that Gary knew the price would be higher than our budget and did the work anyway thinking we would just pay for it. The assistant manager and counter staff were very polite and helped us mitigate the issue. However we will not be returning to Target Tire any time soon.
