Whispering Pines Nursing Home

He had been diagnosed with cancer and was in terrible pain. When he went into this facility, he had just come from the hospital and was very weak after spending a week in bed. They treated him awful. There were days when he told me he felt like he could not do the things they were asking. Instead of listening to Dad the physical therapist would turn around and leave reporting the he would not work with her. When I tried to explain to the administrator his pain level and the fact that he is in his mid 90's, they were so busy defending their position they did not listen to what I was trying to explain. Instead of trying to work with my Father they wrote him off as uncooperative. Additionally when Dad needed assistance in moving around his room, using the bathroom, or help in getting ready for bed, he would press the call button and have to wait sometimes up to 30 minutes fro help to come. The resident doctor gave no respect for my Father's privacy discussing his medical condition in front of a visitor. While some of the staff seemed to be invested in patient care, most of them were rarely available to answer any questions or to be of any assistance. I would never allow anyone I loved to be in this facility.
