Flooring
It is really a shame to have to write a poor review for this company, because the floor refinishers themselves did a good job. They had the floors totally sanded and refinished in approximately 3 days and they looked great. The workers were relatively non-obtrusive, however they could have cleaned up after themselves more professionally. They left behind food scraps in the yard and failed to really clean up their workspace properly. However, this is not the reason for a bad review.
the real problem came when they went to replace the quarter round molding. The project manager, Jay, brought in 2 guys who did not look to be employees of the company and dropped them off at my house with about 5 minutes of instruction. The guys brought in nail guns and proceeded to drag them across the brand new floors - no padding or anything! When I tried to let them know I thought they should be using pads, I really couldn't communicate well with them because of their english communication skills - and the project manager was nowhere to be found. They also did an absolute crap job nailing in the molding. it was split in multiple places and the gaps between it and the the floor/wall were huge - it was an absolute mess. I also tried to communicate this, but it was clear that they both were not willing to re-work the molding, nor were they really able to do a better job.
After all this happened, I was so flustered that I just paid an extra $300 to my painter to have the molding reworked and painted to hide all the issues Toca created. I brought this up with Toca multiple times, along with a few little areas that needed improvement in the floors (small drips and gaps between the boards which are not surprise when redoing a floor), but they absolutely refused to return phone calls or emails.
I would not recommend this company to anyone, especially when refinishing floors costs so much. I still have multiple areas on my floors that were scratched by the nailers, and I will have to have the floors redone sooner than planned because of their poor services.
