It was a pleasure working with the owner, Kay, and her entire team. They are real professionals in every respect. Moving can be traumatic but Kay was reassuring and calming throughout the whole process. I give them top ratings.

I hired The Occasional Wife to pack my belongings for a cross country move, and finding words to describe the stressful experience is difficult.
I'm contending with unmarked boxes, items tossed willy-nilly into boxes, things packed which I'd expressly noted not to pack, (my DVR was packed!?! who packs a DVR???), liquids were packed without any plastic bag protection?..what a disaster.  I hate opening boxes only to find chaos.  The vast majority of items were so poorly packed it's truly beyond description.
It was a horrible, stressful experience, and I absolutely would not recommend anyone use this organization for packing for a move.  This is just one area of their business which needs much more time in educating their workforce.  Horrible, horrible, horrible.  What an expensive mistake on my part.

They reduced the bill because the job took less time.

Everything turned out great. Response time was great; they cleaned up well, and would recommend them to others. The price was also very reasonable.

The price: I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Because her storefront is on Magazine, I assumed she would be the most expensive packer in town. She was actually the cheapest. She quoted me about $1000 including supplies; because the team got done more quickly, it was a little over $800. In my experience, boxes and tape have cost about $250 - $325, so I had my entire apartment professionally packed in less than one day for $500 to $600. She charges by the hour and has several people arrive to pack together. Other movers all quoted me more than $1200 each.
Punctuality and responsiveness: This was the only part where Kaye fell down a bit on the job. She was late to appear and late to give me my quote (but also the only company to come out and survey the work to be done), late to return my calls, and late to process the final payment. In fact, I did not find out how much it all cost until I looked at my bill. The quality of service and price were excellent, though.
Quality of work: The work was amazing and was done in only a few hours (it would have taken me weeks). I can't recommend her workers highly enough. They were no day laborers, and they put thought into packing. Each box was clearly labeled and the contents were carefully wrapped. I read horror stories about trash being packed, as well as anything not nailed down. Not only did they not pack the trash, they left out my cell phone charger and toothbrush so that I could use it that night. Then they moved all the fragile items personally. Her workers obviously put care and thought into the work. I wish I had hired them as movers, honestly.

They are fabulous. They got a lot of good people. They are good in organizing and packing. They just offer complete service. They are very easy to talk to and ndash; very casual people. They are really top notch.

With the holidays and a new job, I did NOT need the stress of packing for a move! After a very pleasant phone conversation, two ladies arrived at my home (half an hour after the scheduled time-the only flaw in an otherwise perfect job) and got straight to work. They barely let me lay a finger, asking only if I needed to leave anything unpacked and how I wanted things labeled/arranged. My entire 2 bedroom apartment was packed in less than 4 hours. When I arrived at my new place, everything was pre-organized, which made unpacking a breeze, and not a single knick-knack or dish was broken!

They’ve done other organizational projects for me as well like closet work and things like that.
