North Lion is wonderful. Our first encounter was standing in heavy rain to choose a remnant piece of granite. They were professional, responsive, and gave us a great price. We thought we needed to buy a couple of slabs of Carrara marble for our master bathroom, but they keep Carrara marble in stock at North Lion and could give us a price for exactly what we needed, not paying for waste. The bathroom renovation had a few bumps, so North Lion was jerked around a bit on when they needed to come out to measure and fabricate. They worked well with our contractor through it all. Once it was all installed, someone used a product on the tub deck that marred the surface. North Lion came out and fixed it up without additional charge. They provide a page of information on how to clean and maintain your new surfaces - both granite and marble, and recommended a product for yearly sealing of the marble. Very helpful, very professional. I had never heard of them before being sent by our contractor, never had a chance to do any research. They were excellent in all aspects.

The installers arrived on time and explained what they would be doing. They consulted with me about placement of faucets and water spout. Several options were discussed and I settled on one. They worked as neatly as possible. When finished I was asked to inspect the work. They cleaned up after themselves when done. The work was done quickly with a few consults with me along the way, and I was very pleased with the results.

Great! With the quartz, if you select a slab that is in stock, you only pay for the part you use, which made the price very competitive. We had to enlarge the surface unexpectedly because of a pipe that pushed the cabinet away from the wall about 3 inches. North Lion was able to accommodate the change, as well as changes in our backsplash height, without a glitch. They made the job very easy.

We went to several stone providers looking for a remnant piece of granite for our bathtub decking. They had the best selection and price. They answered all our questions, came out to measure and installed the granite when promised. They were very pleasant to deal with. Would use them again in the future.

They were fantastic. They're professional. They were very detailed when they came out to take the templates for the countertop. They made great recommendations on where to round the corners and how much of an overhang I needed to make the countertop look good on certain areas in the my kitchen. Their installation today was beautiful. They really were careful and they did everything very cleanly. For the faucet where the hole would go, they walked through all kinds of options and made sure that I was comfortable with it, with my reach to it. It was beyond what I expected. They came in lower than the other bids I had. They also had a lot of options for granite and marble.

They were wonderful and everything was fine. They came when they said they are going to be here, always on time, cleaned up after themselves and did exactly what they said they were going to do. We had no complaints. The quality was fine. We had one spot where we have a big gap but I really feel like it's not them, it's the guy that did our cabinets that weren't right, so I even hate to say that because I don't think it was them, I think it was beforehand and we just didn't realize they weren't straight. They came in and put it on correctly.

I recently remodeled a bathroom and was looking for a countertop to put on cabinets that I had installed. I stopped into North Lion on a whim, just to see what sort of stock they had, definitely without the expectation of buying anything.
I wasn't looking for anything large, but for such a small job, they definitely gave me the service I would expect if I was dropping a lot of money.
They personally walked me through the remnant section and measured out pieces and priced them on the spot. I ended up ordering some carrara marble and picked it up the following week. They also offered up suggestions of what time of glue/epoxy to use.
I plan to re-do my kitchen at some point and will definitely consider going here after the excellent service they provided for such an insignificant return.

"Thanks for the review. The positive review and a happy customer over a small job is more important to us than big jobs without the customer service the client deserves. We are happy to hear something like that. Hope to see you again."

The floor installer used a jack hammer when removing our old floor, and made giant holes all over my foundation. They couldn't get the thin set out, and when I came home there were giant base ball size holes in the floor. I told them to stop, and they came back with more manual labor and tried to get as much as they could off. They ended up having to repair all of the holes. When they put the new floors in, none of it was level! I would want no one to use them. The quality of the product was good, the labor was where the problem was. They came back and repaired the tiles that were uneven, so we are finished with them.
Response from North Lion Granite
"The use of sledgehammer sometimes is necessary and it's an usual tool when removing floorings.Any eventual hole on the slab will be covered by the thin set that goes UNDERNEATH the tiles, it doesn't affect the level whatsoever, mostly because the levering is done at the slab stage, way before any flooring job. There were few uneven tiles which was fixed right next day and as she says herself, THE JOB WAS FINISHED. And she was ok with the final results. Yes, the problem was DURING the installation, not only because the client insisted in telling us how to do the job according her ideas about the removal process, which was solved after.we talked to her about that and she let us finish the job our way, but also for the mess in general. We are really sorry she was insatisfied with the tile removal process, we told her as we tell all the customers, the removal is MESSY and NOISY, there is no way we can remove tiles silently or in a clean way, we do our best to finish it as fast as we can, but removing floor tiles is a heck of a mess, there is no way to put it mildly. Specially if the customer is living in the house during the process. Even with plastic covering everything, the dust is unbelievable, after all, it's a remodeling. She is a good customer and we totally understand her frustation, we all have houses and sometimes we find ourselves going through the same situation when remodeling our houses. We hope she is satisfied with the final result, the granite was beautiful and the floor came up beautiful also."

The company damaged walls and doors while installing the granite and did not fix them. They set the sink crooked and never came back to fix it. They also did not show up or call on the day scheduled for installation after I had taken off of work. Once I complained no one would come out and fix anything. I had to pay another contractor to fix the damage. I deducted the cost from the balance I owed them before paying the invoice and they tried to sue me to for the rest of the money. Horrible experience!!!
Response from North Lion Granite
"[member name removed] is listed as a contact for killeen group, which purchased a granite coutertop from us in 2009, invoice# 22020, on the amount of $3, 829.53. A deposit on the amount of $1,750.00 was paid on 4/7/2009 which by itself was an exception, since the customary deposit is for 70% of the total. We agreed the remaining balance would be paid at the day of the installation, as we usually do and the countertops were installed on 04/29/2009. [member name removed] then told us he would pay the balance next day, but never showed up to honnor his word. On the following months we called him several times in order to get the payment for the remaining $2,079.53. We never received one cent but after a while he started to say that we caused some damages in order to delay or not pay anything else. We didn't damaged any wall or door whatsoever, in order to do so, the granite top would have to be bumped or rubbed against it, which only happens if one of the installers slip or trip , in that case the granite which is very hard but very brittle at the same time, would have broken, which definetely didn't happened. We haven't caused any damage, to walls or door, whatsoever. As for the court, I'd suggest [member name removed] to take a look on that contract again, where it says any remaining balance should be paid at the installation date. Had we sent him to court, that balance would had been paid a long time ago. Since this is a two way road, the same goes for the alledged damages on the walls and doors. Sometimes customers have problems paying the remaining balance, when that happen we are open to negotiation, no need for "damages", court or bad words. If any person still has any doubts or question, please feel welcome to call us at 504-244-0007 and we will gladly email or fax a copy of the original invoice for this job."
