I had an emergency situation pop up and needed a small move done in less than 24 hours. I found MGM Movers here on Yelp. I dealt with Mario on the phone. He was very professional and very helpful. They were able to do my move in my very tight time frame. The workers were prompt, courteous, careful, and professional. The move took less time than I expected and was done for a reasonable price that fit my budget. I am very comfortable recommending this company for any local moving needs.

I recently used this company to relocate from the Westbank to New Orleans East. I hired a three man moving crew. The men arrived over twenty minutes late, and without tools. During the move they broke a light fixture because they were not paying attention to the height of the headboard they were moving. However the most upsetting part of my move came when they attempted to push my leather sofa up concrete stairs without any protective covering. When I brought this to the attention of the supervisor, Mario Magana Sr., he stated that his movers were negligent in the handling of my furniture and admitted my furniture should have been wrapped before the move but tried to place some of the responsibility on me stating I had never specifically stated my couch was leather or he would have told his movers to bring plastic. To add insult to injury he’s refusing to fix my furniture. When I inquired about someone else to speak to regarding my concerns he told me he was the highest person in the organization I would be able to speak to for any reason. I have gone to the website hoping to find contact information for the owner but the numbers listed on the website are numbers that lead me directly back to him. I have used professional movers before and the experience was wonderful. However this was the absolute worst experience I have had and I would not recommend MGM Movers to anyone. The pictures attached are just a few that were taken. My couch had two paint marks from a freshly painted windowsill which could have been easily removed with a leather safe solvent. The leather was pristine before MGM movers destroyed my furniture.

They were incredible! I called them from Seattle and booked the date. Then flew in to NOLA for the move. They were so professional. They showed up on time and were so nice. I will definitely use them again. I highly recommend them!!!

Great! Very professional group of movers. Called to reconfirm the day before the move. Called to give me a time frame of their arrival on the day of the move. All of the team introduced themselves when they arrived. Good problem solvers with making sure all items carefully packed and put into van for move. Aware of delicate antique furniture as well as made sure large pieces of art were wrapped well and tied in for maximum protection.

Great! They had a crew of four instead of the other companies' two -- that makes their hourly rate higher, but the work takes half as long. So it's the same cost as the others, but with four workers they were never shorthanded on large or awkward pieces, and it's over a lot quicker than if you've got two guys struggling all day. No breaks, no scratches, nothing missing, no conflict, just hard work by a group of good guys. I've used them twice since then to move an office's contents, and to carry a piece of heavy equipment upstairs in my house.

MGM Movers are a great company to work with! Everything from the initial call for a quote to the final move day went better than we could've expected. We have their phone number handy for any future moves we may have.

Great -- 4-man crew takes half the time of a 2-man crew, no damages, all 4 were professional movers wit proper equipment. They cost more per hour than a small crew, but take much less time.

The men were very helpful and patient. We went from a one-story cottage to a 2-story home and they took good care of our furniture and made sure to put things where we wanted them. They even put boxes in the rooms they were labeled for!

Amazing! I reached out to multiple moving companies with my request and did not even get a response back. Not only did Mario from MGM respond, he was eager to take the job, even though it was not something they normally do. He was incredibly responsive through phone and email, and scheduled the pickup of the equipment within a week of my call. I was not available at our warehouse when Mario arrived, but my warehouse team was very impressed by the professionalism and the efficiency of MGM. In addition, I have heard nothing but positive reviews from the recipients of the equipment. I was looking for a company that was easy to work with and made this somewhat unique job not a huge pain. Mario and his team accomplished that and more. Next time we are in need of movers, we will definitely be working with MGM movers!

Mr. Mario and team were wonderful. They were prompt, reliable, and careful with our move. They helped us with packing and moving, and were professional and efficient. It can be difficult to hire and trust movers, and we would hire MGM Movers again anytime.

They was 10 minutes late but boy did they move fast great job will recommend n trust me I know fast I work for a furniture company!

Moved a 2 BR Condo -- 2 blocks and charged for 5 Hours is crazy.. $1,100 (didn't even give the $40 off coupon he had)
They will not move GLASS (Had a Desk and 3 other smaller Glass Tables they would not move. After he sold me on there are a licensed and Insured Moving Company. They where VERY slow. Move items we said do not move "They stay here"... That was a waste of time.
They charge $165 before the move ONE item. They took a lunch break and sat around for about 20-25 min. Then left 20min before the hour, but still charged for the full 5 hours. I was owed at least $165 back after a paid lunch break and cutting it short.  Should not take any moving company 5 hours with a crew of 4 men to move 2 blocks away on the same street. Now have to find someone else to move the Glass Desk and other glass items. Buyer beware! HH

No problems.  Crew was on time, professional, and personable.  Total move time was 1 1/2 hours.

Mario, Mario Jr., and their team did a great job moving my furniture from my old house uptown to my new house in Mid-City.  They showed up on time with a 24' truck.  One guy loaded and organized the furniture inside the truck while the other two moved the furniture from the house.  They used blankets and wraps where appropriate, and were able to move several difficult antique pieces into the second story of my new house.  They charge approximately $120 for the truck, and then it is $130/hour for the three guys.
