Jeff of all Trades

Jeff has done multiple repairs and installs in my home over the years. Originally he wasn't available to do this install, but when I had another contractor reschedule multiple times and not show, I jumped when Jeff said he was available. Jeff is my first call. The microwave was basic, I just helped Jeff lift it out of the box and he did the rest. He also fixed a door that was coming off the hinges and a door that wasn't closing correctly. He lets an expletive in his speech fly ever so often, but he polite, dresses for the job, and is prepared.

Jeff is truly a "Jack of All Trades", he spent a day at our daughter's house in New Orleans doing everything from power washing to installing dimmers, trimming doors and hanging curtain rods. He arrived with a well equipped trailer furnished to conquer any job and works quickly and efficiently. No job too big or small and his rates are very reasonable. We will definitely be calling Jeff again!

Jeff was great and very accommodating. Jeff worked around a family emergency and was able to complete my project in 2 days.

Jeff came by to install a 50 amp circuit for an electric car for me. He did so much better than the last "master electrician" that did electrical work for us. Needless to say, Jeff will be doing all of our electrical work going forward. The job was neat and tidy and the outdoor outlet box was perfectly level. I am a bit of a perfectionist I am finding as I am getting older and Jeff's work passes with flying colors. I do know quite a bit about electrical work but I choose to use Jeff because his standards are higher than mine! Unlike many contractors, Jeff cleaned up perfectly after the job like nothing had ever happened. This is the second time I have used him in the last few months and I already have more jobs to give him!

Jeff has done several jobs for us, and we have always been happy with the results. This time, though, he went above and beyond. He came to our house on a Saturday to consult on a window repair. As he was leaving, I casually asked him about a plumbing issue we were having. Several hours later, Jeff was still at our house, determined to resolve the issue. He stayed well past dark working outside and sought out a friend of a friend for advice and assistance. Since then, he has reached out to us and provided follow up to make sure the problem is permanently resolved. We appreciate his tenacity and breadth of experience. We will most definitely continue to hire Jeff.

I called Jeff in the morning and sent a text describing my problem. Jeff responded via text when he was available. He arrived at my house awaiting me. By 6PM I had a working toilet.

It took two sessions for Jeff to finish the work. This isn't the first time and it won't be the last. He had an assistant with him an made my wife aware of options we hadn't considered. After this job, his team put some older parts in garbage without shop bags so we'd had to figure out how to her it out. However, his painting was superb

Jeff was fantastic to work with. He was very thorough, responsive and did a great job with the install. I was out of town when my renter called complaining of tepid water. I called Jeff and he diagnosed the problem quickly and gave me the option of replacing as it was a 6 year water heater that had been in service 10 years! I opted for the replacement and he was able to get everything installed on my renter's schedule very quickly. My tenant was very happy with the results. Since I was out of town, Jeff sent me photos of how the job was progressing throughout the day so I could be in the loop of how it was going. I am already planning on having him do a bathroom remodel in the next few months.

He was very busy but took time out to walk me through the setup over the phone. I was able to send him photos, by text, of all a couple of things that came up. Once I was desperate with a hitch I couldn't get around, he come over after a long day of other work and got me through it. Now I have the new gas cooktop installed before the Christmas guests arrive. The wife is even happy, for once.

It was an all-day long affair. One thing after another went wrong, plus he asked me to take him to Home Depot to get parts so that he wouldn't have to drive his truck & trailer. Now, 5 months later, I'm having major leaks under my sink, I think because he didn't tighten up all the connections when he was here last. He's a nice fellow, but I wouldn't hire hime to do plumbing.

We are very happy to have found Jeff. He is friendly, punctual and communicates well if his schedule changes. Most importantly, he is very good at what he does. He did a great job caulking one of our bathtubs. Based on the quality of that work, we had him caulk the tiled floor of the same bathroom. He also replaced a leaking outdoor faucet and repaired a tub drain. He is willing to find solutions to problems or repairs that seem tricky or difficult. We have hired him to make several additional repairs because we have confidence in his work.

Jeff responded within an hour of requesting a quote and he had already been busting his tail trying to accomodate my request to move a 40’ container. He contacted me and let me know he was doing everything he could to accomplish my request. Seems very experienced and connected and can forsee potential problems and will discuss possible scenarios before agreeing to take on a job.

Diagnosed problem (worn out parts) and fixed it.

On a SATURDAY evening my airbnb guest lost ac! Jeff met me at the house an hour after I phoned. Three hours later the AC was working, my guests where back in the house and all were happy. Jeff is a Handyman but has AC capability as well. I use and will continue to use Jeff!

Great. Jeff even came out on a Sunday. Did great job.

Jeff was knowledgeable, affable, determined and a hard worker. The deck was more of a challenge than predicted. It required sanding that lasted over eight hours. Jeff worked until darkness. Two days later, He stained it by painting on the stain and then wiping it down.with rags. This resulted in showing off the grain of the wood. Finally, he painted on the polyurethane with a brush, not a roller. Then the rains came. At his suggestion, he will lightly sand and paint a second coat of polyurethane in the near future. The photos show the before and after conditions. There are also several small projects we discussed that he can fix. I will gladly use his services again.

All the projects went well. There is no sign that floor tiles were replaced. My bedroom is almost transformed, which makes me feel good. It will be completed later this week with intergrating floor into thresholds & quarter round is placed. Jeff even fixed my shoe which had a design flaw which had a knot of threads inside the shoe. Be careful what you say around Jeff. He'll fix it.

He returns calls immediately and does what he says. He shows up on time and even gives you a call when he is coming. His prices are very reasonable , he did an outstanding job.. quick and professional. He is your man for just about any home repair.

This is the second round of repairs that Jeff has done for me. He continues to exceed expectations. As before he completed discussed repairs & took the initiative to complete related issues without even having to ask him. I have a lot of experience with contractors over the years and Jeff is the best! HIs ability to find a solution to a project in an almost 100 year old house amazes me. -Jack Stevens & James Conrad

Our dryer broke Saturday morning before Easter, I thought I would be out of luck to get it repaired before Monday. I checked Angies list and was wondering who in the world I should contact. "Jeff of all Trades" caught my attention. I like the idea that he wasn't a giant company with lots of serviceman. To my amazement, he contacted soon after and said he could come by at 6:00 pm to fix my dryer! He knew what he was doing, it didn't take him long to find the problem. He was focused on his job and I felt very comfortable with his service and professionalism. Plus, thank the Lord, his fees are very affordable.

Jeff is the real deal. I hired him for several construction projects around the house. He completed them all with excellent results. Jeff not only completed the discussed projects he took the initiative to do additional repairs. He retapped a drywall joint in the closet that had been hidden by hanging coats & I didn't even have to ask. He noticed the tree in the front yard was growing up into the overhead wires. So he got out his tree trimmer & pruned the tree. He put a new tile floor in my bathroom. It looks beautiful! And when Jeff is done with a project he left no signs of having been there, except that that spot is more beautiful than it was before. You can't go wrong hiring Jeff. I almost forgot he adjusted the ceiling fan where a cover that hides the circuit box had come unhooked. He got on a ladder & just fixed. Wow!

My front doorknob suddenly fell off when we had houseguests, which meant we couldn’t go anywhere until it was fixed. Jeff actually tried to talk me through fixing it myself—he had me send photos and then talked me through how to try to repair—but it was unfortunately not a simple repair, so he had to come out. Luckily for us, Jeff hustled and rearranged his schedule to make time to fix it for us. Turns out that it was pretty complicated, but Jeff got the job done fast without needing to buy a whole new doorknob. He did a great job and provided great service. Highly recommend.

Jeff is great to work with. He explained everything he was going to do in detail, and did a very professional job. He showed up on time and completed everything on time.

My daughter moved into a new rental house and discovered that the home owner expected her to put up all mini blinds and to have all 7 outdoor locks rekeyed Then she discovered that the hot water in the shower and the bath didn't work. she called the landlord who came over to check it out but he said he would need to call a plumber. My daughter could get the dog door from Lowes the day that she moved in but they couldn't install it for at least 10 days. Her dogs were accustomed to going in and out to the bathroom so it was imperative that it be done asap I called Jeff of all Trades and he said he would be there in 2 days! Then he called me the next morning and said he had a cancellation and did we want him to start that day! It was a big operation and from start to finish took 1.5 days. Jeff did a very professional job on the blinds and locks. he even showed me how to rekey the locks myself. then he drove to Lowe's and picked up 4 privacy wooden panels to cover open areas in the back yard, the storm/dog door and 2 vinyl privacy panels for the front iron gate. The storm door works wonderfully and the dogs are running in and out. The door one length only and the door way is about 4 inches bigger. so he took measurements and will make a flashing for the door to keep the bugs out. The next hurdle was trying to fit a 6x6 vinyl fence panel to a swinging gate. Jeff is the master of invention. he cut the panel down to where it better fitted the gate and the drilled holes through and attached it to the wrought iron fence with zip ties. The gate still works great and now my daughters dogs wont be able to see through the gate to bark at everyone who walks by. He charged us by the job which I really. appreciated because when he would sit to take a smoke break he would tell the most interesting anecdotes of his life. if he had been charging by the hour, I wouldn't have been able to relax and listen. I think his prices were fair and reasonable. he explained what everything cost and why Oh! and after the homeowner left saying he didn't know why the hot water wasn't working, Jeff told me all new appliances had to have a restrictor on them when they came out of the factory. the Plummer who installed the bath and shower should have known to remove it. Jeff when the the handle. took it apart and there it was! a little red piece of plastic that was the reason we were only able to have a cold shower that morning! So because of Jeff we had nice hot showers. Amazing the little things that you take for granted until you don't have it and the people who should know what to are scratching their heads. Thank you Jeff for you gift of Common Sense!

Jeff was not my first choice. I called 3 larger plumbing companies before trying him. But the recent freezing weather meant that seemingly every plumber in the city was swamped with work. Two of them didn't want to take the job at all, and the third finally deigned to "put me on the list" for an appointment, without any concrete idea of when they might be able to make it to me in Algiers (which to them might as well have been Siberia). Then I called Jeff. Jeff was also tied up with other jobs and wasn't able to come over right away. But rather than make me wait for days without hot water he offered his immediate help and guidance over the phone! I described the situation as best I could and got his email address so I could send pictures to his mobile phone. He made a diagnosis and walked me through how to go about doing the repair myself. The whole process took a couple days, largely because my older Bosch AQ 125 B water heater would not accept the "universal" thermocouple available at the Home Depot down the street so a part had to be special ordered. But Jeff was helpful over the course of multiple emails and phone calls, always friendly and courteous. In the end Jeff helped me install a new thermocouple (which I never would have been able to do on my own) and get my pilot light back on, all without ever stepping foot in my home! When I called him for the last time to report success and thank him for all his help he refused my offer of compensation since he had never actually made it over here in person. I suspect he was hoping for a good review in return, but he was going to get that regardless. My final satisfaction came the next morning when I called that third plumbing company, who still hadn't bothered to let me know when they might be able to come out for an appointment, and ask them to "take me off the list".
