After close of sale I was able to get in touch with him with no problems. There were some short-cuts taken that had to be remedied after inspection. 6 months or so after purchasing the house when cracks started forming everywhere he was no longer accessible. Voicemail box remained full so I couldn't leave a message; email went unanswered (the first couple of times); then the third email earned me a poorly written letter from his illiterate attorney saying that he was under no obligation to help me fix the problem. This I understand, but a company that has pride in its work would at least come look at the problem and give me insights on how to fix it, correct? The problem is the fancy trey and vaulted ceilings they put into the house. They look nice, but the contractor failed to create the necessary support in the attic space for these build-ins, which involved cutting the support beams that help keep the walls stable. Now I have enormous cracks forming everywhere, and a center wall that is bending since each side of the wall is holding up a different type of ceiling with a different load bearing on the wall. I had to hire a structural engineer to come out and tell me why the cracks were forming since two different differential measurements showed no evidence of foundation settling. The flooring is also bowing up in one part of the house. If you buy a house from Foy Construction LLC in New Orleans, please make sure you check to see if the support beams have been cut to make space for build-in ceilings. The inspector failed to catch this the first two times I had him out so check for yourselves and make the contractor take care of it before close of sale!
