About us
With over 40 years of experience in three-dimensional design, including both Architecture (licensed since 1983) and Sculpture, I also have deep experience in historic restoration and construction, including general contracting and hands-on skills in many of the building trades. Over these four decades I have built several successful businesses and have traveled, worked and lived around the world. I believe that I'm able to offer a synthesis of experience as an Architect, Builder and Sculptor, something which historically has been the role and definition of the word Architect. I believe that our built environment deeply affects our collective psyche and to the extent we pay attention to this subtle reality, the more positive effect we can have on our individual lives and society in general.

Our church leadership worked with Ted on building a new church. He came with great ideas, design plans, professionalism and talked with city hall on our behalf as it related to building codes, parking variances and the like. We liked his character and hope to work with him again in the future.

I hired Edward Fleming (Ted) sight unseen. I liked his photos and his aesthetic. I could not have foreseen how knowledgeable, thorough and professional he was. I have worked with a few architects and Ted far surpasses all of them. He was there at a moments notice, was extremely particular about his own work and even the work the structural engineer did, even correcting his mistakes more than once. I received every update on large-scale plans and Ted resourced several manufacturers when needed. Not only is Ted well-trained and thoroughly professional, he is a joy to work with, with a lovely manner and a desire to do the best job possible. He is already working with my builder on other projects as they have forged a great relationship as well. Ted is so thorough that when the plans are handed off to the builder there will be nothing that the builder has to correct, add, fix. This saves a fortune in expense. Most important, I am a designer, builder and decorative painter and am pretty good at visualizing space. Ted went so far beyond what I had imagined for my house. That is why Ted should get the highest rating possible.

Edward Fleming did a wonderful job designing my home in Ashland, Oregon. It is a tremendously functional work of art. The contractor and subcontractors could not stop talking about how well designed our house is down to the finest little details in terms of beauty and integrity. Japanese Industrial. This ended up being the consensus among the builders. Most architects dress up different kinds of boxes as homes. Edward Fleming spent a great deal of time and effort to draw out the home that would support my life. I could not imagine the same quality and innovation without Mr. Flemings mastery.
