Appointments were kept and the auction went well. Unfortunately, most items sold at the low end of the estimated value or less, with a couple of exceptions.  Advertising was handled well and payment was received timely.  Overall the experience was good.
There was an issue with an unsold lamp that was missing the shade and harp when we went to pick it up.  After no action for weeks, the owner offered to replace it with an shade that was too small and not the silk fabric of the original.  When we indicated that that was not satisfactory,  he declined to do anything at all.  He justified this by say that he never received a shade with the lamp, when we know it left the house with one.  He said it was the fault of the moving company, his agent  WHICH HE CONTRACTED FOR THE MOVE.  For this reason, I would advise taking movies or pictures of everything as it leaves for as a record.
