I love this neighborhood hardware store. The staff is professional and knowledgable. I am amazed at the completeness of their inventory in such a compact space. I moved to the neighborhood 5 months ago. I needed a hardware store upon arrival. The movers lost the keys to the locks on the back of the moving vans and asked if I had bolt cutters. If I had owned one, it would have been inside the van :). I called ahead to find out if they had them, they asked about the size/type of locks and said they had what I needed. Upon arrival, they had two different bolt cutters at the counter ready for me. I showed them a picture of the locks, and the salesman advised which bolt cutter I needed. I have never had to cut a lock off, and he gave me directions as to the correct technique. I have been back many times for different sized light bulbs, hardware, adapters, screws, latches, etc. I love walking the isles of their store to see the variety of items they carry that are needed in the older homes in our area. They even have a sewing notions section! They also know their stuff. I had a friend fixing a light switch that was not working properly. He said he needed 1 foot of one type of electrical wiring, and 1 foot of a different kind. He scribbled the gauges/specs on a sticky note. I handed the sticky note to the salesman. He went to to the back of the store and returned with the two different wires, cut to the needed length! I am so glad I didn't have to buy reels of electrical wiring. While there, I realized they cut glass to specifications. I returned with an outline of the broken glass panels on our gas porch light and now that is taken care of as well! I like being able to buy just the amount of hooks, screws, bolts, you name it, that I need; instead of a pre-packedaged box (where I have to then figure out where to store the extras). Great selection of quality tools as well as handy little tools such as hemostats, fine-pointed stainless probes, and the like. My last visit was to have extra keys made. All copies work as well as the originals - and they have all of the basic key rings and labels right at the checkout counter. I love having a reason to go to their store!
