My next door neighbor hired Chris Harvey to do her trees so I talked to Mr. Harvey on the phone to see if he would trim my trees while he was there. I was unfortunately not there in person to oversee it. He gave me an estimate 800.00 for the Magnolia and 150.00 for the Orange tree, and said that if it went under the time he would adjust the price. He also charged my neighbor 250.00 for my Orange tree. It took three men 5 3/4 hours according to Mr Harvey, to trim back the canopy hanging on my roof line on one magnolia and a medium sized orange tree. That's over 15 man hours. According to my camera they arrived about 2 and cleaned up at five. They did a pretty good job but I did have a lot of leaves on the ground. I emailed him with questions. He never responded. He called me about two weeks later and asked if I was going to pay the bill or not. He said the men were paid at different rates but does not seem to have a set hourly rate. His pricing makes absolutely no sense. When I questioned Mr. Harvey he started to insult me and said I was trying to "micro manage" and he also knew what kind of person I was, even though we had not met in person. He also taunted me and said if I reviewed him he would have some stuff to say about me. My husband called him and he was polite to him but also gave him the weird pricing rate of the individual men, which did not add up to 950.00. My neighbor also confirmed with me that the men were only there about three hours. I found him incredibly rude and unprofessional when it came to questioning the bill. We did pay the bill because we are out of town and don't have time to deal with him. My husband sent him a letter letting him know that we did not appreciate his obscure and confusing pricing, his rudeness and unprofessional manner.

Christopher Harvey was an absolute pleasure to deal with, he was extremely easy to communicate with, prompt and extremely knowledgeable. I got numerous quotes from other services in town, most stated that they needed special equipment and tried to make the job much more complicated than it needed to be. He was very straight forward with me about what needed to be done AND best price to boot. The day they came to remove the limbs they were prompt, I was not able to be there to supervise the entire project but to my pleasant surprise they not only cleaned up all the debris from their work but also tidied up the fallen leaves and such and cut off the vines that were growing up the tree (in typical new orleans fashion). This was such a nice touch I was shocked and very pleased. All in all I cannot say enough wonderful things about C W Harvey LLC!

Good job, crew arrived promptly , worked efficiently, and left no excessive mess! Most reasonable estimate of 3 (by far). Would recommend highly.

At all times his work crew was responsive and responsible. The workman
up in the trees were always wore their safety harnesses and basically were
careful of the flower beds when they dropped cut limbs to the
ground. A few things were bent by smaller falling tree debris and they will grow back from their roots by next spring. I especially liked the fact that nobody wore spikes when they
were in the trees. The big trees hang over a neighbor's yard and the
work crew worked constantly to clean tree debris from the neighbor's
yard. A large tree limb damaged a gutter as the work crew was lowering
it. When the damage was brought to Chris Harvey's attention, he
immediately said his company would pay for the repairs and offered me a
choice of using my usual roofer or his. I am waiting for my roofer to
give an estimate for the repairs and have complete confidence that the
repairs will be done and paid for with a minimum of fuss and
disturbance. This Tree Service Comapny is well run and the work crew knew how to safely cut some major limbs from large Oak trees and clean up after themselves. I've hired different Tree Services over a 23 year time span and Chris Harvey's work crew is the best I've had work on these trees. I plan to use him again whenever the large Oaks or Magnolia need trimming.

I highly recommend Chris. We got 2 other quotes, and he was the most reasonable. In addition, they completed the work in a day and half, and left our yard neater than what it was. We won't bother to call another tree company next time!

Chris' staff are true professionals and skilled in their trade. Five men came to do the job. They arrived on time, were courteous, conscientious and CAREFUL and did an excellent. They are not the cheapest in town by any means, but their work is worth what they charge. I have used them for the past several years and will continue to do so, as I know that I will not have to worry about their safety or quality of work.

chris gave us his recommendations for remedying the problems and a price that seemed quite fair. his crew showed up on time, worked steadily, and did a remarkable job. the guys seemed bright, decent, trustworthy people. they cut off everything they should have. they hauled the detritus away and left the yard cleaner than they found it! they worked safely, not causing risk to themselves or to our place. even though literally tons of material was cut off the tree, all of it was roped to the ground, and we sustained no damage--even to the under plantings. the tree looks much better than i expected it to. after the work, i thought the price even better than when i accepted it. the tree won't need attention for a few years, but when it does, i'll definitely go to chris harvey.
