AUTHENTIC AIR LLC

Called American Home Shield Monday 8/20/2016 due to A/C not cooling. They designated Authentic Air as our contractor. We called Authentic Air Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon receiving their voice mail and leaving messages both times (No call back). Finally called Wednesday afternoon again and someone answered. They sent an incompetent sloth to our home who supposedly pumped our AC with 3 pounds of outrageously priced refrigerant (without even mentioning first, hey that's going to be $300).  He eventually, after much prompting (because he didn't want to go into the hot attic unless he HAD to), went into the attic where the AC is located and blew out the condensation drain.  Then he left and called us to pay our $300 bill for refrigerant. Only the A/C was still broken. We called Authentic Air back Friday morning but no one was available to come back until Monday. No A/C from Monday 6/20- to Monday 6/27 now. Its over 90°F every day here in South Louisiana. A different technician came Monday and went in to the attic and said he HEARD a coil leaking. Heard it. Funny the guy that came the previous Thursday didn't mention that. AND he told us we needed refrigerant! WHAT?!?! The last guy pumped in $300 worth 4 days ago! Now...They have to order this coil, only they can't find it supposedly due to the age. When we called to ask them how to find this coil the obtuse idiot (Anthony) on phone actually said "I'm looking for it and being on the phone with you isn't going to help me find it." When my girlfriend stressed we needed the A/C fixed because we have friends and family coming in this weekend he replied "so does everyone else." What customer service?!?! This company is the worst of the worst. You will never feel more unimportant and discarded than when you're speaking with someone from this business. Anthony even let us know it would be after the weekend at the soonest that we could expect anything. So more than TWO WEEKS without AC enduring daily heat indexes over 100°F and here we are. American Home Shield should immediately sever ties with this crooked ambivalent business. It's a farce. If you're working through AHS do yourself a favor and demand a different company. 

 

 

HORRIBLE customer service. Our AC has been out for 96 days and they are not responding to our Home warranty service who has contacted them every week. They came out once about three days after our initial call and diagnosed the issue. Ordered the wrong part and then never picked it up from the warehouse. About a month later they showed up to get the part and came to our house to install. They had ordered the wrong part so they had to return the compressor and we haven't been able to get in touch with them since. The Home Warranty company has been contacting them with no response either. My husband and I went to the address listed for Authentic Air and it is someone's home. 96 days without AC in the middle of the summer.

American Home Shield scheduled Authentic Air to inspect and repair a faulty Carrier Infinity unit (November 6, 2015)  The first tech was not able to inspect the unit as he "couldn't find the disconnect". After many calls and messages left. a second tech was able inspect and determine condenser needed replacement  (December 4, 2015). He stated that He had to contact Carrier for warranty information which would take 3-5 business days.  From Dec 14, 2015 through Jan 4, 2016 I tried to contact Authentic Air by phone, left multiple messages, none of which were returned. I also emailed them and used their website contact information in an effort to repair the unit. Gave up,

NOTE: American Home Shield authorized Sears to repair the unit and they inspected, got warranty information within 1 day and repaired the unit in 2 hours.

*Disclaimer: A/C was under home warranty so warranty company covered the major costs & red tape caused time to take longer than normal. 
A/C wouldn't come on so contacted warranty company who sent over Authentic Air after the first company sent couldn't diagnose the situation. Anthony was prompt and flexible @ scheduling me. They came out, had the proper tools to diagnose the situation and recommend I replace the outside a/c unit.
Authentic Air replaced the unit upon receiving it from warranty company and also disposed of old unit. The unit ran for 3 days before stopping at which point I called Anthony (who picked up @ 7 pm on a Monday!) and scheduled me for early the next day. They confirmed that it was not an issue with the unit but was most likely a electrical/breaker issue. They even offered to have them get an electrician out even though they don't do that. 
Easy-going techs, performed to expectations.

The service was all and more than promised.  Authentic Air is a small business definitely in the business to please their customers.  They accommodated my special request to wait until I returned from out of town, and arrived exactly at the time set up.  They provided both a winter and summer checkup, while only a winter checkup was purchased, were very efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I will certainly use them for all of my AC/heater needs in the future, and will recommend them to all.

I've dealt with them many times and have always been treated fairly.

The technician arrived punctually, and went right to work.  He was pleasant and polite.  When he noted a few items that might need fixing, the company provided me with a written quote in a timely fashion.  The technician also showed me a couple of things I could do myself to help the units operate better.  He was amenable to answering all my questions and concerns.

There was a confusion after the initial when I contacted the vendor and he was supposed to call me back. He did not call back. I called him again, he apologized, admitted to the confusion and showed up the next day.

Excellent.  We are very pleased with the twice-annual maintenace and inspection service and appreciate the monthly auto-billing to our credit card ($12).  We asked for a new drain pan and some other incidentals even though the old ones still had some servicability left, and Authentic just charged us for the parts and included the labor into the pre-summer maintenance/inspection appointment.  THANKS!

Excellent service and the $75 part still has the AC running, a year later.

When I called he was very polite. He came out, he was right on time. He got my A/C up and running in a hour.
