Called American Home Shield Monday 8/20/2016 due to A/C not cooling. They designated Authentic Air as our contractor. We called Authentic Air Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon receiving their voice mail and leaving messages both times (No call back). Finally called Wednesday afternoon again and someone answered. They sent an incompetent sloth to our home who supposedly pumped our AC with 3 pounds of outrageously priced refrigerant (without even mentioning first, hey that's going to be $300). He eventually, after much prompting (because he didn't want to go into the hot attic unless he HAD to), went into the attic where the AC is located and blew out the condensation drain. Then he left and called us to pay our $300 bill for refrigerant. Only the A/C was still broken. We called Authentic Air back Friday morning but no one was available to come back until Monday. No A/C from Monday 6/20- to Monday 6/27 now. Its over 90°F every day here in South Louisiana. A different technician came Monday and went in to the attic and said he HEARD a coil leaking. Heard it. Funny the guy that came the previous Thursday didn't mention that. AND he told us we needed refrigerant! WHAT?!?! The last guy pumped in $300 worth 4 days ago! Now...They have to order this coil, only they can't find it supposedly due to the age. When we called to ask them how to find this coil the obtuse idiot (Anthony) on phone actually said "I'm looking for it and being on the phone with you isn't going to help me find it." When my girlfriend stressed we needed the A/C fixed because we have friends and family coming in this weekend he replied "so does everyone else." What customer service?!?! This company is the worst of the worst. You will never feel more unimportant and discarded than when you're speaking with someone from this business. Anthony even let us know it would be after the weekend at the soonest that we could expect anything. So more than TWO WEEKS without AC enduring daily heat indexes over 100°F and here we are. American Home Shield should immediately sever ties with this crooked ambivalent business. It's a farce. If you're working through AHS do yourself a favor and demand a different company.
A/C wouldn't come on so contacted warranty company who sent over Authentic Air after the first company sent couldn't diagnose the situation. Anthony was prompt and flexible @ scheduling me. They came out, had the proper tools to diagnose the situation and recommend I replace the outside a/c unit.
Authentic Air replaced the unit upon receiving it from warranty company and also disposed of old unit. The unit ran for 3 days before stopping at which point I called Anthony (who picked up @ 7 pm on a Monday!) and scheduled me for early the next day. They confirmed that it was not an issue with the unit but was most likely a electrical/breaker issue. They even offered to have them get an electrician out even though they don't do that.
Easy-going techs, performed to expectations.
