ALFREDO MORAN CONSTRUCTION INC

Very responsive, came by for an estimate within 24 hours.  Got to work very quickly.  However, work was shoddy, deadlines were missed and basically he over promised.  Very nice to work with.  Not happy with the quality of the workmanship.

Alfredo Moran started and finished the work on schedule. He was flexible in working with our schedules. After raising the front of the house and replacing the rotten wood under the front of the house, it was apparent that we would still have a leakage problem when it rained because the front porch was higher than the interior floor of the house. Alfredo studied the problem and decided a new threshold was the solution. The old threshold wasn't high or wide enough. A pre-made threshold wouldnt work, so Alfredo manufactured a new theshold and engineered it to prevent leakage down into the basement. He also sealed the area where the front porch meets the house. When painting the threshold he also painted the front door. (That was lagniappe!) When replacing the basement walls, Alfredo discovered another sill along the bottom of the wall that was rotten and replaced that. Alfredo and his assistant, Rudy, are hard workers and very pleasant and polite. Working with them is easy. Repairing an almost 90-year old house often presents some surprises. Alfredo kept us informed of any problems he encountered and always found the best way to overcome them. Alfredo Moran is a smart, thoughtful person, a good carpenter and an excellent problem solver. He works at something until he gets it right. It is a pleasure to work with someone of his caliber.

Both were completed on time and at the cost he estimated. I don't remember the exact cost, but we felt that they were both reasonable for the work done.

We were very pleased. The contractor is relaxed and flexible, and able to handle problem solving on the fly. He was easy to work with, and he listened well to our needs.

The cost above is for painting a 3,400 square foot home, including materials. I can't quantify how much I like this guy. I have a historical home, and I trust him with the home. He comes out for a bunch of small jobs about every other month. He's great, responsive, and reliable. He does amazing work.
