"Fantastic! Adam responded to my phone call immediately even though it was after business hours, showed up the next day within the window of time he stated and even texted me when he was on his way. He was courteous, professional, and went right to work! He always let my husband and me know what he was doing and what the next steps were. His knowledge was exceptional and his prices were very competitive. We will never look for another HVAC person again. He will always have our business!"

"FYI, service call was $65 not $55. Was told the cost upfront and that was great. Service was awesome! Came out on a Thursday and found all my problems. Was going to be the following Tuesday before the repairs could be done but, we’re able to fit us in on Saturday instead. Fixed everything, checked all the appliances and the computer to make sure everything was now working. Plugged everything back up, even changed the lightbulbs in the bathroom and put a new receptacle behind the coffee pot. Cost me an extra $130.00 over the estimate but, it was worth it. The only thing I would like different is that I would like to have an itemized statement instead of just a total statement. I will definitely keep Pops HVAC and Multi-Serve in my contacts. I highly recommend this company."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Some of the signs of HVAC issues include rising energy bills, rooms not cooling or heating properly, loud noises when in operation, and signs of condensation. To illustrate, if you’re wondering how to stop condensation on air vents, you’ll need to have your HVAC inspected.

ACs don't run on water. They're not connected to drain pipes or any part of your plumbing system. However, they need refrigerant to run. Refrigerant is a gas or liquid that has a low boiling point and absorbs the heat in your home. ACs need this in order to be functional and cool your home. If you suspect your AC is low on refrigerant, you need to contact a licensed HVAC professional. Refrigerant is a dangerous chemical that requires specialized training and permits to work with.

Most units are designed only to cool the house down to 20 degrees less than the temperature outside. This means that if it’s 99 degrees Fahrenheit out and you’re trying to cool your home down to 65 degrees, you’ll notice your AC is struggling.

Lower the blinds on all your windows, turn on your ceiling fans, and keep the thermostat at a consistent temperature to help your AC do its job. Investing in an HVAC maintenance plan also helps because pros will come out to inspect and tune up your unit regularly, keeping it in optimal working condition.

While many states do not have specific licensing requirements for HVAC companies, your local city or county might. It's always a good idea to check local requirements online and use a tool like Angi’s contractor license lookup to confirm that the company you’re considering is licensed. Regardless of licensing, you should always ensure the company you hire is fully insured to avoid potential lawsuits if a technician is injured on your property. Additionally, it is recommended to check if the company holds third-party certifications, such as North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification or R-410A certification, which qualifies them to work with HVAC refrigerants.

No. Evaporator coils are designed to work with specific refrigerant types, and they are rated by what kinds of refrigerant they use. It’s indicated with an “R” code. It’s important to match your evaporator coil and refrigerant or your system will not work properly. An AC technician can tell you what type of refrigerant your system needs and what evaporator coils will work with it.
