Dykes Construction LLC

Dykes Construction was paid in full but did not complete the contracted work. There are bathroom fixtures not installed and cracks in the tile and drywall. He has promised for a year to finish the work and now he won’t answer the phone or return calls.

After a house fire totaled our home of 27 years, we finally determined to purchase a new dwelling on a smaller lot, rather than rebuilding.  After looking at a few new 'spec" houses for sale in our area, and some other fairly new homes, it didn't take much encouragement to decide on the house we purchased from Dykes Construction.
 We loved the overall design of the house, neutral colors and open floor plan.  However, the details were what cinched the deal.  It was as if the house had been built for us.  Very large master with tray ceiling; huge master bath with jet tub and oversized tiled walk in shower; gigantic walk-in closet; door from master suite into the utility room!  Office just inside the front door.  Decadent crown molding.  Custom cabinetry matching throughout the house in the kitchen, living room, utility room & bathrooms.  There are even 2 lights in the attic (which was decked, btw).  Ceiling fans in every bedroom and the living room and office.  The area over the fireplace was already pre-wired for cable, electricity, and had an HDMI cable run from the wall into the cabinet beside the gas fireplace.
Vaughn Dykes met us prior to closing and walked through, and sent his crew over to mow during closing.  He also gave us the name of the fellow who pre-wired the house for cable and at our request, had his son come and measure our windows for blinds.  While he was here, his son fixed a minor issue with the back door, which didn't want to shut quite right.   
I've talked to several people about this company now, and everyone has given stellar, and even rave reviews about them and their work.  My husband and I totally agree.
 
Overall, the Dykes are extremely personable, helpful, on-the-ball folks who listen to what you need or want and take care of business.  We hope they stick around in this business forever, the world needs more people like them.

In my experience with Dykes Construction LLC, they do a good job. The approximate cost of those services was 18,000. There are other companies that are better. I just haven't used them. I am satisfied with them. Sometimes it depends on what you want versus the price. They were always here on time. Yes, I would use them again in the future if needed. What I try to do is go for quality with 3 prices and generally I will take the lower price.

This was a wonderful experience after a tragic event!  When the house burned on July 4, 2012, I knew that I wanted Vaughn Dykes to rebuild it.  He told me that he would have everything ready to get started as soon as the insurance company gave the OK to clear the slab.  The slab was cleared and he snapped the line on the slab on August 15th.  He told me that he would have me in the house by Christmas if at all possible.  From the first day, Vaughn has been available for me to voice my concerns and has always listened. 

The weather was in our favor and the crews worked long hours with the framing and roof.  A friend who is an architectural engineer visited during the framing stage and was amazed at the amount of lumber used for the framing and also the fact that all the materials were grade A materials.  He said that it has been a long time since he saw work of this quality and offered to give Vaughn a reference if he ever needed it.
Vaughn has a great eye for details and has added little extras along the way that have really enhanced the look of the house.  He has made suggestions about materials that I would have never thought about and has been able to incorporate some things that were important to me into the project; like a residential sprinkler system, a safe room and an antique post office counter. 
I am so happy to say that my house will be ready for me to start moving furniture in tomorrow, November 15th!  Dykes Construction Company has built my house in three months and it is beautiful!!  If I ever have to build anything in the future, I will use Dykes Construction Company and I recommed them to my friends.

My husband and I recently moved to the area and were unsuccessful in finding a home that met our needs. In searching for a reliable builder, we came across a spec home Dykes Construction had under construction. We liked the plan, but didn’t want to live in the city limits. After finding a suitable lot and house plans, we sat down with Vaughn Dykes and went over specifics. We were on a tight budget and wondered if we could get what we wanted at the price we could afford. He worked up an allowance sheet for the house plans and showed that it was possible. During the next three months, Vaughn Dykes stayed in constant contact keeping us up-to-date on the entire process.  He was accommodating when I asked to make changes along the way. It became apparent through the process that Vaughn had a great eye for detail and was a perfectionist. The whole experience was wonderful. It was obvious from the beginning that it was important to him that we, the home owners, were happy. This was our third home building experience and by far the most pleasant!
