They replaced some hoses, pads, etc. & told us the ABS light was remaining on for some unknown reason.  After paying the bill, we started heading down the highway only to have the brakes start locking up & slamming again.  We returned to the shop immediately & told them the same problem was still happening.  They told us it must be because of the "sensors" that are "hanging" loose on the front wheels.

I understand the economy is tough & businesses need income as well, but sending customers on their way knowing the brakes don't work or are safe seems irresponsible.

Once they looked at the vehicle again, they gave us another estimate of addition $300+.  We declined & went to pick up the vehicle, but they refused to release it until we signed a Waiver of Liability.  They said the vehicle is now unsafe to drive & they wouldn't return it to us.

I asked if any money was owed them & they said "no."  I expalined that since there was no Mechanic's Lien or money due, they didn't have the right to withhold the vehicle.  After some "discussion" & the warning of bringing the sheriff's department into it, they finally returned the vehicle to us without our signing anything.
