Description of Work: Bad service. They actually lied to me. I called at 8am and told Keith in the service department my Ford check engine light was on and was today a good day to bring it in. Keith said yes. I dropped the car off at 8:30am and Keith said he would call me with an estimate. I knew the check engine light can be diagnosed with a computer that hooks up to a port in the car and displays a list of possible problems. It only takes 10 minutes to do this. I did not hear from the service department by noon so I called for a status report and Keith said he had not heard from the mechanic. By 3pm I heard nothing so I called again and Keith said the mechanic had the paperwork but he had not heard anything. Keith said he never promised they could fix the car while I waited, even though they had the car for 6 hours and had not even gotten to it. Keith said they had other cars ahead of me. I mentioned he should have told me that when I called to ask if today was a good day to bring in my car. I told Keith I would just come get the car since they did not have time today to fix it and I could not leave it overnight. When I arrived, the car was not in the repair area but in the back and had not even been moved from when I dropped it off that morning. They lied to me that the mechanic was looking at it. I understand Ford likes to have cars sit and get to it when they are ready, but the job of a service manager is to estimate when a car can be fixed and relay information honestly to customers. Service managers don't work on cars so if they can't do this simple task, what does Ford need them for? I understand being busy but don't ever lie to customers.
