Very punctual, easy to work with, professional. I caught Ted at a break in his schedule so he completed the job immediately over the course of 3days. Wasn't the cheapest, but I wasn't looking for that...needed someone to do the job carefully and Right (pull up loose tiles, clean and replace; as I had no spare tiles) and he exceeded my expectations.

Ted did an absolutely beautiful job. He is a consummate professional and I could not recommend him more. We was prompt, reliable, cooperative, trustworthy and meticulous. He puts in the time and effort like you would on your own home and that is really hard to find!! You'll be glad you hired him.

I supplied rubbing alcohol and long blade for cutting old caulking. He just wanted to dab a little epoxy on the ends. I had to insist that he remove it, clean it and reset it. He chipped one end when he tried to grind it to remove old compound. Charged me $150.00 for less than an hour. Was not on time by an hour and half.

"I met with Mr [Member Name Removed] twice. Once for the estimate and once to do the work.both times I mentioned the possibility of cracking or chipping the granite by doing the repair.when I started the repair; I had lifted the piece as much as possible to remove the existing silicone and adhesive , but Mr [Member Name Removed] wanted the piece completely removed.that is how it chipped.from the very beginning my price was 150.00 or you could've called the original co that install the granite.as far as my punctuality, the appointment time was at 10 am.I call Mr [Member Name Removed] at 9.30 am and it took him 10 minutes to return my call, and I told him that I had to work late the day before. I also informed him that I had to make a quick stop, so I was checking to see if he still wanted me to come out or just reschedule. he was open to us keeping our appointment and I arrived at 10.40. Not an hour and half late. very sorry Mr [Member Name Removed] was unsatisfied"

My new bathroom is beautiful! Ted did a perfect job of tiling my shower floor to ceiling with slate. The shower floor was tiled with a flat pebble slice which he meticulously cut around the edges to fit. He also leveled and tiled the bathroom floor with the same slate. His seams all match perfectly. I could not be happier with the work he did. I will ask him to do another bathroom soon. I felt comfortable enough with Ted that I left him the key and went on to work. I believe he is an exceptional craftsman as well as completely trustworthy.

Top notch professional, works on his own diligently and methodically. If you're in a rush to get a project done slow down and do it right the first time with Ted.

A shower pan was installed incorrectly in the house I purchased a few years ago and the consensus was that the bottom of shower needed to be removed and a new shower pan installed (what a headache). Ted was quick to respond and provided a competitive quote. I was able to find and purchase matching tile and Ted got to work. After beginning the job he noted that the a lack of proper waterproofing in the rest of the shower had been allowing water to get to the sheet-rock, causing it to crumble away. I talked to a contractor friend who told me that: 1) that this was correct and Ted noticing had probably saved me a whole lot of trouble in a few years and 2) that Ted was asking for a very reasonable price to expand the job to include a complete re-tiling of the shower installation. We went forward with the complete job (with some gaps to order additional materials) and over roughly a week the entire shower was ripped out and properly reinstalled. The end result looks indistinguishable from before. I was extremely pleased with Ted's work, but also his responsiveness and level of service. Ted was quick to return calls, answered all my questions promptly, and was always on time. I would highly recommend Ted to anyone looking to do tiling work and in particular for anyone having problems with a faulty shower pan.

"I was truly shocked and dismayed when I read the unfavorable review that I received. In the first place , I did not do any work for this gentleman! I returned his deposit check to him when it became obvious to me that I would not be able to exercise my more than 30 years of professional experience in doing the high quality work that I have always done. This gentleman was second guessing me everything I wanted to do ! He fancied himself as knowing more about how the job should be done than I did! In any case, I am disappointed that I could not please this gentleman. I have always prided myself in delivering the highest quality job at a very reasonable price. Until now, my customers have always appreciated the fine work that I do and have recommended me to family and friends. I plan to continue in this tradition and, after more than 30 years , I have no interest in degrading my standard of work excellence to accommodate the rare exception who wants speed at the expense of quality !"

He usually starts about 15 minutes late, but that is no big deal. He works steadily and does not take breaks. I think he is a non-smoker.
He was very interesting to talk to, although I tried to leave him alone and not hover. The Man is obviously a Professional and doesn't need overseeing.
He was very concious of engaging me in some decisions to be made, but did not try and influence me one way or another to make his job easier. I left it up to his judgement and it was the correct choice. The guy knows what he is doing.
I am using him again in a week or so to fix a tile shower stall that was botched by a previous contractor.
I could not be happier. I wanted this new fireplace to look old and original to the house.
It does.
A little about me:
I have been in the Construction Industry 30 years. I have seen it all. As a Female I am used to being "talked down to."
Ted Johnson was totally equal with me and respected my experience. I appreciate that.
Hire Him. He may not be the cheapest...buy he's probably the best.

Everything went better than expected.  The work that was performed was excellent.  He cleaned up as he went avoiding any dust build up in the bathroom and the house.  The work was completed on time and within the price range that was estimated.

Guests at my home are amazed at how beautiful my remodeled hall bathroom is.  Ted took his time and did the work properly.  When others would have rushed the work, Ted made sure at each step to allow sufficient drying time.

Ted gutted and retiled my bathroom. The tub was taken out and the ceramic tile removed from the walls. He built a shower stall, retiled the walls of the shower and put Sheetrock on the rest of the walls and painted. He worked alone, was always on time and never left the job until he finished for the day. He has so much pride in his work and is a perfectionist. He did a lot of extras for me to make the bathroom look great. I highly recommend him.

I called Ted Johnson based on reviews that say he does good work and is meticulous, After leaving a message, he soon called me back. I scheduled a time for him to look at the job. He said he could do the job so I hired him. He has 30+ years of experience so I had no worries. He began as scheduled. I had all the materials already purchased. He started to work by bullnosing the side of the tub and then tiling the surround, obviously going up as he worked. Ted tiled halfway up and it looked good. It was not until he was nearly finished that I realized that the only meticulous quality about him is his cleanliness. When I walked into the bathroom, my eyes caught the wavy grout lines on the back wall. He even drew level lines. Well somewhere halfway up he tiles an uneven line and it just multiplies. I had him remove the tile and do it over. It is still not perfect, but at least I can deal with it now. I could not use my colored grout because he did not do that great of a job. I ended up using bright white which kind of hides his errors. He also ended up with a 1 inch cut at the top ,which really draws your attention, because he bullnosed from the bottom. After he left for the day, I ripped the bullnose off and replaced it starting from the top. I also fixed a few tiles on the shower niche. It looks much better now. Lesson learned for me. He came back the next day to grout which was mediocre. He admitted most of his experience was commercial. This job just seemed as if he has not done a subway tile surround before. I thought I had the right person for the job, but I will be tiling the surround myself in our guest bathroom.

Ted responded to my call by making an on-site inspection. He took measurements and provided me with a free estimate.
After a detailed discussion, I accepted his offer and made a down payment to order materials. When the materials arrived, Ted called and gave me a work schedule. He arrived when promised and worked steadily. He was very conscious of details and took no shortcuts. Since I was present for the work, he explained why he did all the things that he did, and his 30+ years of
experience became clearly obvious to me. My particular job involved breaking multi-colored quarry tile to create a mosaic
pattern, and he took pains to arrange the colors and shapes of the broken tiles to create a very pleasant and attractive pattern.
The job took a total of 4 days and throughout the job, I was impressed with his attention to detail and his obsession with keeping the work area very clean. I would recommend Ted to anyone and, he is in my opinion, one of a few remaining
craftsmen who take pride in doing an outstanding job for his customers.

Mr. Johnson did a great job with the installation. He responded quickly to our request for an estimate and did the work in a timely manner with professional results. His costs were very reasonable and he left the kitchen clean when he finished. I have no complaints and would definitely recommend him to others.
