*Update: He is still responsible. Because of his poor construction, the water was pooled, and now we have termites. They ate the entire front and the side of the house, which is continuing up to one of our bedrooms. His response he is using is from an old BBB review we gave him to absolve him from his responsibility. He has more than $500,000 worth of insurance to cover these situations, yet he refuses to act upon it. He still owes me the $20,000 for his bad work.* Hotard Construction Company was contracted to build our home at 6763 Louisville, which was a green field site. The Owner and General Contractor for Hotard Construction Company,Jay Hotard built a two story home at the above address. On Jay Hotard's recommendation,we hired his architect to develop/re-develop house plans for construction . Hotard Construction and architect ,Mark Schroeder were both hired to design and build our home. As General Contractor, Mr. Hotard was responsible to hire the fumigation company to pre-treat the grounds and chain walls for termites before the construction of our home. Mr. Hotard along with the crews hired constructed the home. We moved into the home on March 1st,2011. On May 15th, 2012 termites were found in our home. The termite nest was as large as the bed of a pick-up truck! We hired a professional estimator to help determine the amount of damage caused by the termites. He recommended we make a request to the State Argiculture. The customer called and stated that now its four years later and she has never gotten paid from the provider.
