Do not use this Company. The appliance repair person "Pete" told me he would be at my house between 7 am and 10 am, but he would try to be here as early as possible per my request since I have to go to work. He said he would call on his way. I had not heard from him by 9:45, so I called him, and he said he would be 45 minutes late, which he was. Not only did I have to take 4 hours out of my day, but I had to track him down. Lousy service. That's not all. He had told me that they charged $50 for a "service call." Once he got to my house, it took him approximately 5 minutes of work for him to locate a plastic part that froze preventing my Fridge from making ice. He ran it under the tap, and put it back in the freezer. The whole process took less than 10 minutes, and he did not even pick up a tool, but he tried to charge me $125. I told him that 5-10 minutes of work without any tools should be included in the service charge. He agreed to lower his charge to $108, and he said he should have told me how much it cost before he ran the part under water. I told him that we had not agreed to this price, and he started a bunch of "salesman' talk about how other companies would have charged me more. I asked to speak to his manager, and he told me she was sick and wouldn't be back for a week. I told him that I was very disappointed and that I would have to add a bad review on Angies List, and he just said ok. I paid him the $108 because it was not worth the hassle, but I will never call them again.

My SubZero refrigerator was leaking from the bottom.  I called Al's Westbank and the repairman, Pete, came out the next day - a Saturday.  He quickly figured out what the problem was, but told me he would have to come back the following Saturday because it would take a while to get all the stuff out of the refrigerator.  He did come back the next Saturday morning and fixed the problem after removing all the food from the refrigerator.  The drain line had become clogged with mold (ewww, but apparently normal), which he removed.
I have to say that Pete was probably the best repairman I have ever had - he was nice, honest, and hysterical - he had me cracking up laughing without really trying to.
The price was surprisingly reasonable, and he told me they don't charge by the hour - one price for the job no matter how long it takes him.  I would hire him for any repair he does!

He showed up on time and performed the service well. The service was a bit expensive and he had to leave to get some parts a couple times.

Called Monday afternoon, given appointment for Tuesday. Peter arrived as agreed, very cordial and very professional. He quickly identified the problem, the dryer belt was off and obviously frayed, and needed to be replaced. He left to purchase the belt and returned quickly, installed it and tidied up. He answered all my questions and gave me good tips on the care of my machines and which ones were best options if I needed to replace them. He explained every item on my invoice. I would most definitely use this provider again.

I woke up to find that our 13 year old fridge was not cooling... the freezer items were thawing and the fridge side was warm.  I rang Al's Westbank Appliance Repair at 0930 and got Peter.  He was on another job and had one more to do on the Westbank but would come over to my CBD apartment when he finished that one.  Peter rang when he was on the way, and arrived before noon.  Very quick service!  He got straight to work as he knew what the problem was right away from the ice on the freezer coils.  It was a defroster heater element fault.  He had the replacement part in his truck and the unit was repaired efficiently and effectively.  The longest part of the job was removing the large block of ice from the coils with a hair dryer type heater/blower.
Peter was friendly, knowledgeable, personable and professional. And I found the cost of the repair to be reasonable.  I will most certainly use him again in the future.

The gentleman informed me that I had a freon leak.  My options- pay aprox 100.00 for freon which would only last maybe 1 - 3 months, or a very expensive repair.  He said he would not repair it and why.    He gave me several brands of refrigerators that were good/bad with reasons for each.  All in all I had a very positive experience and would reccommend them anytime.
As a side note, I realized I had used them in  2005 for warranty work on the SAME refrigerator.  He remembered me as well.

My refrigerator was making a loud humming noise and the freezer had started to get warm and food was defrosting so I called and made an appointment for the next day. By the next morning the noise had stopped and the fridge was working again. I called to cancel the appointment, but the technician said he would come and take a look to make sure the problem would not reoccur. He was very friendly and did not charge me a service fee

My oven failed on the Sunday before Christmas. I called Al's Appliance repair Monday about 8:00 am and my oven was repaired and working by noon. I actually did not expect anyone to come out on Christmas Eve or at least I thought they would be booked up and that would have been alright. To have my oven repaired so quickly and in time for Christmas saved our Christmas dinner.
I've used their service in the past and definitely will use them again in the future.

Same day service was offered. The repairman was very prompt, knowledgable and professional. The dryer was fixed the same day. The washer took several days because a part needed to be ordered. The part was installed the same day it came in and the repairman came after 6pm to accomodate our work schedule.

THE TECHNICIAN CALLED AND CAME EXACTLY ON TIME.  YEAH!  HE WAS POLITE AND FOUND THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATLY.HE CALLED AROUND TO FIND THE PART AND LEFT TO GHO GET IT AND RETURNED IN LESS THAN A HALF HOUR.  HE EXPLAINED THAT THE PART HAD TO COME FROM CHINA AND THAT IS WHY IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE.  HE HAD A REAL TIME  GETTING THE OLD PART OUT AND WAS VERY VERBAL ABOUT IT BUT EVENTUALLY HE GOT IT OUT AND REP-LACED IT WITH THE NEW ONE.  I WAS HAPPY TO HAVE THIS DONE. HE DID NOT EVEN HAVE TO EMPTY THE TOTALLY PACKED DISHWASHER, FOR WHICH I WAS GREATFUL.
MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT HE SMELLED FROM CIGARETTES.

I called Al's Westbank Appliance repair, they sent out a tech within 90 minutes, he figured out the problem, located a part he needed, went and bought it, came back and fixed it all in the same day.  I don't mind spending a little extra for service that good.

Everything went very well. They told me when they would be there. They called to be sure we were home and arrived at the appointed time. When I had a delay I called the technician's cell phone and he answered immediately. I'll definitely use them again.

My refrigerator went out 2 days before I was scheduled to have major surgery. I called Al's Westbank Appliance Repair Service and someone was scheduled to come to my home to repair the refrigerator the same day I called. The technician called before he came and arrived, as scheduled. He checked the refrigerator and told us that the problem was one of two things, but that if it was the compressor, the refrigerator was not worth the cost of the repair. He tried replacing a relay, which had the refrigerator working for a day, but then the refrigerator stopped working again. Since it appeared the compressor was the problem, we called them backed. We were told again that the refrigerator was not worth the cost of replacing the compressor and that they would refund the entire costs we paid them for the first visit. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! We had never heard of such a thing from an appliance repair company. We will definitely recommend them to everyone we know and will definitely use them again. They even gave us help with recommendations for our new purchase based on manufacturers that do and do not have good repair records.
