I called A&R after reading the reviews on Angie's List. I spoke with Russell and made an appointment for a few days later.  He said that it would cost $65 to come out and look at appliance and if we decided to have him repair it, the $65 would go toward the cost of repair. For the 2nd appliance, he said it would be $20 more and that too would go toward cost of repair.
On the day of the appointment, Russell called 30 minutes prior to arriving to let me know that he was on his way.  H was very punctual and polite.  He diagnosed my washing machine within minutes and said that he could go a store that he knew would have the part so that he could fix the machine that same day.  The part was about $100 and he charged less with than that for the labor.  He also explained everything that he was doing to my husband, who appreciated the opportunity to learn.   
For the range, he said that the entire panel would have to be replaced. The part would cost close to $300.  We decided to wait on the range, since it is still functioning.  He ended up not even charging us the $20 to look at the range. Overall, I was more than pleased with the experience.

I had a tenant that is deaf and needed special attention and I as the landlord, tried to get her what was needed.. I called A R and could not have done better. I read the good reviews and was treated great over the phone ! After explaining my problem, not only did I get a same day appointment but she had a tech that knew American Sign Language This pleased not only me but my new tenant was very happy. I intend to use this company for all of my properties. Thank You A R Appliance you have a new repeat customer

Called A&R on Wed. and made appointment for Friday afternoon to fix our 20 year old gas dryer. Receptionist was knowledgable and conveyed that they could most likely fix it on the first pass.  She told me that Russel (the repairman) would call an hour or two ahead of arrival and he did just that. Russel arrived on-time. He's got a great personality and I felt comfortable with him working in the house. He was thorough in diagnosing the problem - eliminating various possibilities before isolating the issue.  He told me before continuing what it would cost for parts and labor. He had the parts necessary with him and proceeded to fix the problem in a short amount of time. He also spotted another problem with the dryer door lock and fixed that for free - very nice of him.  A great overall experience - arrived on time - diagnosed and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes - left the area spotless. Can't beat that!

After my washing machine broke last week, I called A&R Appliance Repair on Friday (10/19). After leaving a message, someone called me back within a couple of hours and scheduled an appointment for noon today (which was much quicker than the other companies we spoke with were able to come). Russell called at 11am to confirm that he'd be on time (actually early!) which he was. Not only was the repair done quickly, efficiently, and accurately, the price was very reasonable, as well. We'll most definitely be using them for any other repairs in the future!

I have now used this gentleman 4 times-starting with him being the installer the company we bought our dishwasher from used. I then had him out for that appliance later on down the road, once for my washer (which he pointed out my transmission was still under warranty from Sears so I had them do the work free-yea) and today for my dryer.  He is professional, polite, and punctual. He calls before he comes,and I appreciate that. I would use him for all my appliances in a heartbeat. He is HONEST which is sometimes difficult to find in a repair industry.
His new company magnet shows his address as 641 Francis St., Marrero. His company(home?) number is listed as 504-348-1345 and his cell is still the same at 504-887-5615. I am assuming this is a cell, maybe just another contact number.  I thought I would just point this out as address is not the same as listed above.

These guys are great!!! They are on time, professional and above all FAIR. I would recommend A & R to anyone.

My Amana stopped working and A&R came out and fixed the problem in less than an hour.  He had the part on him.  I had the same part go out in 08 and I had to wait over a week to get it fixed because the serviceman didn't have the part and I was so overcharged I saw stars .... Not so with A&R ... he was knowledgeable, friendly, made you feel comfortable and professional.  I have found my appliance repair company!  Thank you Angie's List!

Russell owns his own business, I called in the afternoon and he arrived, as promised, at 8:00am the next day. Very thorough, very professional.

We called on a Tuesday day before the July 4th holiday.  We got a service date for the Thursday after the 4th.  The repairman called when he was on his way and came out exactly on time.  He had the part he needed on his truck and performed the repair in a few minutes.  The price was fair and he was very professional.  We were very satisfied.

I called several appliance repair companies. They either did not return my calls or said they don't work on units in RV's. I got A&R's name from Angie's list. They stated there was a $65 fee for the service call that would be used to offset any repair costs. We set an appointment and they were punctual. The service man came to the RV storage location, removed & tested the unit, told me what it would cost to repair. I agreed. They notified us when the parts arrived.  We set an appointment and he came out and installed them. It did not completely fix the unit. He brought the unit to his shop and found the other defective part. They brought it back, installed it and it worked property. They did NOT request an increase over their original estimate.I thought they were very professional during the whole process.

I've used him in the past and it has worked out very well. He is a very nice man. He and his son work together. They are very prompt and I really like them. I would use them again.

I've used them for years and years for regular appliance repair. They are pretty quick in coming. They are very nice and very clean when they do anything. They warranty their work. I will definitely continue to use them.
