Once Billy, Charlotte, and I came to an agreement on keeping in touch, it went great! This isn't like a cab service point-to-point with no detours. It is more like a shuttle service where pick-ups and drop-offs are made en route. As a result, dates and times slipped due to the need for the company to pick-up and deliver the pets and show animals all along the route. I got a fantastic deal because Billy and Charlotte wanted to get back to home base, and this run would help defray their costs. Normally the cost would be 2 or 2 1/2 times this fee. There were also delays due to equipment malfunction. Since they were on a cross-country run from California up through New England and back south during one of the worst heat waves of the summer, they had to stop several times for repairs to the air conditioning (there are two systems) and the vehicle itself. I was a nervous wreck waiting for them to pick up my kitties, but I was much more relaxed once I met them and saw the van itself. It was clearly in good condition, and had lots of carriers/cages with solid bottoms for the comfort of the animals. Also, Billy and Charlotte are very patient with the animals, and caring. Once they had my kitties in the van, they kept me informed via text messages regarding routes and delays. It took about 5 days for them to deliver my babies, but when they did, everyone was in good shape. In fact, one of my babies was pretty upset about the whole thing so I had to half crawl into one of the carriers to get her out. (That will show how large that particular carrier was, and two of my kitties were sharing it.) When I did get in there, it was clean and smelled fresh. My kitties have recovered from their big adventure now and are happily ensconced in our new home.
