I needed someone to check out my refrigerator that went on the blink.  I called them two times with no answer.  All I got was a recording, so I left my name and number each time. They NEVER returned by calls.  Needless to say, I crossed them off

my "----" list.

It required two trips and parts. all seems well, as long as we keep the pocket change out of the washer. Pocket change is bad news for the washer and your wallet!

My Ice maker was leaking so I turned the water off to the fridge. Mr. Kelehan had me describe what happened and figured out what the problem was. The end of the hose was frozen. He explained to me how this happens. We tried to check if it was working but I didn't have a water filter installed in the fridge, so the water wouldn't supply to the freezer. He offered to pick up a filter and bring it back, or for me to get it so I could make sure it was working properly. I told him I would pick one up and he told me to call him if I was still having problems. He said he would come back out to make sure it was fixed. Mr. Kelehan was very easy to talk to and a pleasure to visit with while he was repairing my freezer. He only charged me for the service call since there were no parts involved.

Considering this was a weekend at 8am the shop was closed, it was overtime paid for the technician to come out, hence the larger service fee. However, if tech didn't have parts available and had to come out later, there would have no more fees except for parts. I called and spoke with Don Kelehan at 8am and Ryan was at my door by 9. Ryan was professional, clean, and courteous. As he was troubleshooting, he was talking through his steps with me. He had the problem narrowed down to the defrost controller board within half an hour.
Unfortunately, his company didn't have the parts immediately available and wouldn't be able to order till Monday. I found a company on the internet who was willing to ship on a weekend and I had my parts on Tuesday.
My fridge is now running fine.

Excellent service, polite, honest, great --- came out same day when others called wanted me to wait a week. Followed up with a question about a part on our oven as well. Would recommend to friends and will use again. Dishwasher works fine now.

My dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes properly.

The first time the tech came out, he thought it was that the filters were dirty and clogged - but this did not fix the problem.

The 2nd time the tech came out, I suggest the water pump was the issue (based on discussion with a friend). This was the problem, and the part would have to be ordered.

I had to call the company to get an estimate. The estimate to replace the pump was almost as much to replace the entire dishwasher with a similar model. Don Helehan does NOT sell or install dishwashers, and I had to go purchase my new dishwasher and installation elsewhere. They were very prompt and friendly, but it shouldn't have taken 2 visits to figure this out. I could have diagnosed the problem myself with help from others who have similar experience.

I called Sears Repair. They tried to sell me a one-year maintenance contract for $250 which would include the cost of parts, labor, and service charges for the requested service call. Today is Monday; they said the earliest they could come was Friday. They offered to schedule for arrival between 8 am and 5 pm. When I asked for a more specific time -- like morning or afternoon -- I was told they could not be more specific. I thanked them, looked for help from Angie's List. The top rated washing machine repair company on the list for Lafayette, Louisiana was Don Kelehan Appliance and AC. I called. They answered on the second ring. I told her the problem (the agitator would not turn and the drum would not spin with a full load of clothes and water ). I asked them when I could get a service call. She spoke to someone who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. I told the technician that I thought it was the coupler between the motor and the transmission. The Tech was courteous, knowledgable, and prompt. He spotted the problem in less than 30 seconds. We had set the switch for handwash and then loaded a blanket and a full drum of water. The washing machine would not agitate or spin on our settings. He ran the machine through a cycle of filling the drum completely, agitating on heavy-duty, and drain/spin to establish that the coupler was not at fault. All he charged us was for the service call; no parts and no labor. I will use them in the future. They are honest and fair.

The repair man thought the problem could have had several causes and he figured out what it was. He took the time needed to get it fixed right. Haven't had a problem since.

The gas dryer quit heating. The service man narrowed the problem down to two main possible causes. He tryed fixing the first one, tested it, the repair was not effective. He removed the 1st new part and addressed the second likely cause. The dryer then worked and it is still working.

The man was courteous and explained everything before he did the work. He cleaned up after and he was very pleasant.
