Custom Wood Refinishing

3/21 - Saturday - Donwell Domond rode around neighborhood looking for work. Seemed like a nice guy. Gave flyer with his number 337-780-9498 and "Extreme Wood Replenishment." We agreed that he will repair my front door entailing 6 steps for a total of $400 ($100 supplies and $50 each step). I gave him $100 check for supplies as downpayment. He actually began the job that day with stripping process... 3/22 - Sunday - Said he would continue the job at 10:00 AM. We changed our plans to accomodate. He showed around noon instead. He continued the job with continuation of stripping process. 3/23 - Monday - He showed up near dark and proceeded to perform the 2nd step - sanding. He said he could also fix a minor crack and make sure the window louvers were fastened. I said that sounds good. No additional charges or fees were discussed. He went ahead and put the first coat (of the 4 final steps) of Spar Marine. 3/24 - Tuesday - He returned Tuesday 9:30 AM for the 2nd coat of Spar Marine and informed me (after he had been at my house a total of 10 minutes) that the crack and louver repair job had already been done AND that he would charge me another $125 - for a service cost we never agreed upon and had already been performed. I thought this was unreasonable as he had been at my house a grand total of 10 minutes and charged another $125 without my agreement. He agreed to go down from $125 to $75 and I (stupidly) went ahead and wrote him a check for $375 ($300 balance owed + $75 bogus repair job). He left - went straight to the bank, cashed the checks (before 10:30 AM) and has never been back to our house to finish the final two coats of Spar Marine. He is a liar. We have contacted him several times and attempted to contact him several more with minimal success. Monday March 30, he told my wife he would be at our house in 30 minutes. He never showed. In retrospect, I should have known, he was only looking to see how much money he could get out of my wife and I as he continuously tried to get us to agree to additional jobs for him to do.
