I arranged for 3 yards of "Spillway Sand" to be delivered to my employer's home. I spoke with Sally of Reliable. Sally advised that 6 yards was the smallest amount they would deliver. She also said that they handle "Spillway dirt" or "River sand." I explained, as my employer listened, that we were going to put the product down and then put limestone rocks over it, so we needed the one which would stay in place better. She recommended the "Spillway dirt." No other description was offered. No photos were available either. This was the full and only description provided to us of the product to be delivered. When the load was dropped by dump truck in my employer's yard, it turned out to be mostly large clumps, similar to small boulders, of clay. It cannot be broken up to lay down beneath limestone to make a safe walkway in his garden, so it is unusable for the purpose intended. When a call was placed back to Sally inquiring what our options were, we were told that there were none. She said it is her "standard practice" to tell customers that Spillway soil contains "some clay," but that was absolutely not done in this instance. We now have a huge amount of clay on his lawn and we have to figure out our own solution for getting rid of it. Further, we still don't have what we needed for his garden paths.
