FAIA CONSTRUCTION

The overall quality of the work was good. But there were some timetable issues that dragged things out. It was not necessarily something that I could blame them for. For instance, we incurred a delay with a trim we were using in the walk-in shower. We had selected something and then they said it ran out. So we had to find something else. They didn't provide it, but as the contractor they had set up to get it. They also subcontracted an outfit to put in a large glass door, which is the entryway into the walk-in shower. Somehow this was delayed because they tried to install it twice, but the measurements that they had taken were incorrect. Everything had to go back, which probably lengthened the work. Between those two things, it probably added a month to the project. We were happy with the final project. We were happy with the fact that together with that company they had a designer that they worked with. We did need design help. We are happy with what is installed there. From previous experience, we were not terribly surprised that they were things with an older house that we have to get around to deal with. We were fortunate that we could use the downstairs for our bathing and bathroom needs. We were not pushing to get the fastest job. We were pushing to get something that over the long term we were going to be happy with, and that's what we have. The pricing was probably on the high side. We had others come in and give us prices, but they seemed to be lost when it came to actually helping us with designs. I don't want to so strongly say that we paid much more than we should have because we are happy in the end. I could have cut every corner, saved every nickel and spent $25000. I could have said now for the next twenty years, I have to look at this bathroom and I don't like it. I would rather be where I am, because I could afford what they charged. They were very punctual.

Overall, I have had a consistently wonderful experience. Their prices are ok and the work is solidly above average. They come recommended because they are very responsive and reliable. They are also patient. On several occassions, I have asked for a quote and not ordered the work because of our budget. It has never affected our working relationship. Kathy really understands because they also manage rentals.
