"thank you"
I could not believe it when I called the AC Ambulance and was told by the dispatcher that someone would call me within an hour. They were correct. The technician called in about thirty minutes and was on his way to my home. I was standing outside when I got the surprise of my life. Not one but two trucks pulled up. I had two techs with two stocked parts trucks to work on my unit. One tech went to the parts house to pick up the motor since neither truck had one on it; while the other tech got the fan motor housing ready for the new motor. Again I say, the complete time on the repair was no more that 1 and 1/2 hours.
I received a call from Mike around 11:45 stating he was on his way. He arrived around 12:15 PM. He inspected the unit and told me that the fan motor needed to be replaced and estimated the cost at $625. He also discussed the pros & cons of fixing the old unit vs. buying a new unit for which he also gave me an estimate. His opinion was that the unit was worth fixing since a new unit would mean a conversion to the newer Freon and mean replacing everything inside & out. This would be quite an expense. I decided to go ahead with the new fan motor. He did not have the proper fan on his truck, so he would have to get one from across town. He said he would be back in several hours.
Mike returned after 4 PM and quickly installed the new motor. My AC is working fine now. He was very informative and helpful. He also didn't mind answering most of the questions I had already asked him for my husband who was home from work. Mike was very professional and made me feel that I made an informed decision about the AC.
The total bill was $625 as Mike had estimated. I like that I had the option to go online and pay with my credit card using my invoice number rather than having the number written out on an invoice or having to write a physical check. I received an email acknowledgement of my payment immediately.
I will definitely use AC Ambulance in the future as well as recommending them to friends & family.
The following morning I did receive a call from there office, on Saturday, stating they weren't sure why the technician never showed up. Technician then showed up within the hour, and cleared the clogged drain within 5 minutes. I was billed $125 for the business failing to meet my appointment within their scheduled work week, and meeting me on a weekend support service.
"We were contacted on 8/7 the call was sent out on 8/8, at 1:17 pm my tec called Sean but got no answer, he then proceeded to go to Pontchatoula and was their till after 5pm, he did not return to the call, the next day Saturday another tech took the call not knowing the call was not made on Friday. Saturday call require a $60.00 call out fee plus the service call of $125.00 which is our standard rate, when he was told about the mix-up he only charged the standard rate. The first tech should have called back or gone to the call, for that I apologize. Sidney Lee"
