Where the drive was to go the previous grass and rock was graded out to the back yard, which is now full of rocks, I have not said anything about this to the provider or the BBB, figured I'd just live with it. One month later my driveway was full of holes, just like it was before the stone was laid. I have been advised by two others that perform the same service, that the failure of this provider to lay a proper foundation is why the driveway did not last. Since the provider told me his reputation was important in the area and that I could trust him to do it right, we called to see if he would repair the driveway. The first call he was out of town and said he would look at it when he returned. The second call he said he had been by and it did look bad, he would see what he could do to make it right. My husband had mentioned the need for a proper foundation to Mr. Liuzza who stated he did not put down a foundation because there was some gravel there already. We called Mr. Liuzza a few times after that and he has not returned calls. I reported this same situation to the BBB. He replied that he had been by numerous times and that I was never home, I work nights so I am home, sleeping during the day and I have checked with my neighbors who watch the area and know the provider, they advise he has not been at my house, also he put down the stone while I was away so I do not know why I need to be home to have the drive repaired; he stated that he had told me I would have to buy another load of stone, this is an untruth unless he meant in a year; he said he never said the drive would last a year, he blamed the weather, and said even his own driveway has to be graded every month. He said if I wanted the driveway repaired I had to pay him more for that. The BBB let him off the hook stating he made a good faith effort to resolve the matter.
