Auto Body Work
These people were so friendly and HONEST. Me, being a woman, am often afraid of being ripped off by auto service centers, because I am clueless when it comes to auto repairs. This place could have very easily agreed with the brake shop and told me that i have a bent frame, and charge me hundreds of dollars to repair. But these people looked under my car and told me that the frame looked fine. He asked if he could keep the car overnight, and he would put it up on the rack in the morning to make sure.
He called me first thing in the morning, and said he checked the car, and the frame was fine. He went one step further, and checked the brakes for me too. He found the problem. It was a warped rotor.
I picked the car up and thanked him for taking his time to look at everything under my car, but mostly for being honest and telling me that nothing was wrong with my frame. He did not charge me one penny for the estimate.
I then brought my car to a repair shop (Chabill's) to get an estimate on the rotor repair. They wanted almost $500 for new rotors. Needless to say I went and picked my car up from them and said, no thank you. I was charged $34 for them to look at the car.
I then returned to the original brake shop and explained that both the body shop and the repair shop had said it was a rotor problem with my brakes. The manager looked at it, and also agreed that it was the rotor, and he apologized for his employee telling me that I had a bent frame. The car was repaired by the end of the day. And here's the best part, it was only $82.00, and the brakes are working great.
So the bottom line I guess is that there are some honest people that are not trying to rip you off on auto service.
I have to say a big Thank You to the staff at Quality Collision Center for being one of the few honest auto service businesses. And also to Midas in Houma, for making the repairs for such a reasonable price, $82, as opposed to the $500 that Chabill's wanted to charge me.
