My shingle roof was damaged in a hailstorm so my insurance company paid to have a new roof put on. I checked out several houses and business's with metal roofs and really liked them, so I signed a contract with Scott Mann with Arklatex Shop for $12,225 to have a metal roof put on my house. When i got home from work the roofers had done maybe 20% of the work. The metal panels had been put on with screws. My house looked like a warehouse. None of the roofs I looked at had exposed screws. I told the roofers to stop where they were and called Arklatex shops and told them I would pay for the work done thus far, figuring I would lose a couple thousand dollars. The next morning the roofers came back to pick up their supplies and I apologigized for the trouble. The foreman said, "I called the office when I saw what a nice house you had and asked if they were sure I wanted that kind of roof on this house and they told me to go ahead." (My house is worth about $250,000). Scott should ahve told me they would use screws. I went to Arklatex Shop the next day to see how much I owed. They said I only had to pay for labor used so far . Amark told me they would give 2 months to sell the unused panels to another job and then they would have to sell them as seconds. I called back the next day to see what the toal was. They told me I owed $7690.52, more than half of the original contract. Arklatex Shop said I owed $4,000 for labor and Amark said I owed $3,690 for material since they said they will have to sell them as seconds, even though the previous day they said they would give me 2 months. I was afraid if I fought them they would hold me responsible for the whole $12,225 so I paid them off over time. I hated that roof so badly I paid the $7,690, even though I had to go into debt to do it. I got screwed royally. I have heard both companies are owned by the same person. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EITHER COMPANY.

Bought Metal from them. Metal ended up being a Bad Run of Metal. They asked me to wait 2 years and I did to make sure it was really Bad, It Was, After 2 years. I contacted them again and they would not Replace and Remove the metal.

Bought Roofing Material for Lake House, Metal started to get spotty
and discolor, I contacted Rowdy Prince and Sam Jennings and was told to give it
another year, that it would even out. It did, and the warranty on my
house with my contractor was a standard 1 year warranty. I was told by
Rowdy that the metal was from a bad coil and that he would not remove
and replace the metal even after they had removed and replaced the front
panels. Had several discussions with Rowdy and filed a complaint with
the Better Business Bureau.
There are 2 Companies on the same
property- ARK-LA-TEX Shopbuilders and AMARk Metals owned by the same
person- Rowdy Prince- He told me that he could not be responsible for
the AMARK Metals side of His Buisness. Do not deal with these people-
They do not stand behind their products and will not work with

They did a very good job. I was very disappointed with them; I called them out for the second job and they did not call me back. The prices were really high.
