Fantastic work on repairs. The quote was high but reasonable based on what he needed to do. He spent a lot of time with me to get the details worked out. Carlos is really good at what he does and is not willing to take shortcuts, which I do admire because very few subs understand value. Although, he was able to repair my broken system I was not able to use him for the larger job of re-engineering the ducting. With all of my workmen, Carlos would only work with his own carpenters, plumbers and electrician, but would not work my subs already on site. I could not have the electricians, carpenters and plumbers tripping over each other or I would be forced to have delays, and Carlos does not want to have potential problems from subs he has not worked with before. I hope he will be willing to work with me in the future. Because I do admire that he does not take shortcuts and only does things by the book. Pick two, (quality work, on time delivery or cheap) Carlos has chosen quality work, done on time and will not do cheap.

Now back to Caribbean Breeze;  Carlos, the owner, did a great job installing the new system last year,  with  a new overflow pan and (2)emergency shut offs as the unit is in the attic. Note: The new system came with a ten year parts and labor warranty.   He also checked my  other system and added a little freon at no charge.  He said he would come back in a year and check the new system. Carlos came back as he promised and he checked the new system thoroughly.  He also checked the old unit and worked on it for well over an hour.  Some of the contacts were corroded and he cleaned them for better connections.  He cleaned both units using chemicals and hosed them down.  I knew the new system followup check was part of the original agreement; however, the old system was not.  I asked him what I owed him for his tedious work on the old system and he said he took care of it as part of the new system purchase.  I don't usually spend a lot of time on reviews, but Carlos was great and any future work will go to him.  Also, I seldom give "A" ratings in all catagories;  but this was well deserved.  He got an A rating because there is no A plus rating.

I purchased a rental property in NOLA this past October 2013, but I am currently living in Chicago. I needed someone to come and check out my AC units before the summer heat arrived. Carlos at Caribbean Breeze had great reviews, was responsive, and his prices were fair. He was extremely helpful and even came out on a Saturday to acommadate the schedules of my tenants to do the work- and he didn't even charge extra.  Carlos consistently called me throughout the process to let me know when he arrived, to give me a heads up on issues that needed to be adressed, and called me when he had finished the job. Excellent service and  excellent communication- I couldn't be happier. I have owned a home for the last 8 years in Chicago, have had to do a great deal of work on my property, and have had experiences with all manner of trades people. I would confidently recommend Carlos and Caribbean Breeze to any of my friends in New Orleans and I will be certain to give him a call to check out my furnaces in the fall. Just an all around great experience!

I contacted Carlos on Thursday, 2/13. We scheduled him to come out on Friday, 2/14. He showed up on time and was very professional. He took the time to tell me various ways to keep my system up and running. He serviced the unit and along the way found a few things that were done incorrectly. He changed out the drainage pipe as it was backed up and also fixed a connector that blew out while he was testing the heater. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. . He also gave me a quote on future work that I will need to have done to seal the air vent. When he was finished I could not believe how reasonable the price was. I will definitely call him for all of my AC/heating needs in the future and would recommend him to anyone needing work done.

Our A/C went out in the middle of the night.  I had used Carlos before for a small A/C repair and called him at 7:30am the next morning.  He opens at 8:00 and called me exactly at 8 on the dot.  He was even able to squeeze me in that same day, over what probably should have been his lunchtime.  I had to be at work so I asked him to give me a 15-minute heads-up call so I could meet him at my home.  He did.  He quickly found the most obvious problem (capacitor), but like he always does, he thoroughly checked every other part of the system in detail.  Something wasn't right about the system pressure, so he kept looking for something else.  Because the system came back on after he replaced the capacitor, most repair professionals would have left at that point and considered the job finished.  Carlos discovered a blockage in the system, which was a much more serious problem.  If we had just gone on to run our A/C system with  a new capacitor, this problem would have grown and caused us to probably need an entire coil or system replacement within a few weeks or months (thousands of dollars).  Carlos described everything in detail and gave me three options for a repair, from least expensive/shortest term fix to most expensive/longest term fix.  He was completely informative, no pressure, just laying out the pros and cons of the various options.  I found this extremely helpful.  I chose one of the options, and he said he would have to order some parts and come back in 2 days.  He did not charge me anything that day, saying I could pay the whole thing when he came back to complete the fix.
Not only did he come back exactly on time, he spent over 6 hours (with a helper!) in the hot sun and the attic fixing this issue, which involved a lot of tricky technical work.  Again he checked everything thoroughly to make sure the fix was sound.  I was shocked when the total bill was only $640, since he put in easily 8-9 hours of labor (6 of them with an assistant) on two separate days, and the total labor charge for the whole thing was less than $200 of the overall bill.  I included a tip in my payment because it is truly rare and exceptional to receive such knowledgeable, professional service.  I recommend everyone with gas line, A/C or heating system issues use Caribbean Breeze.  Carlos knows EVERYTHING about these things, and he is a polite person and d*** hard worker.

We bout a condo off St Charles Ave and the AC system was shot. We settled on Carlos, owner of Caribbean Breeze, after getting estimates from several other providers because he seemed the most knowledgeable seemed honest and offered the fairest price. We live in Florida.and we're out of town when Carlos installed the new system. Carlos was awesome! He worked with the building manager to get into the condo and up 3 floors to the roof. The cooling lines needed to be replaced from the roof through 2 other condo units; Carlos gained permission from the property manager to enter the other units and pull the lines. He insisted that the larger diameter lines were essential for optimum performance knowing way a pain it would be to do the job. He also replaced the furnace vent pipe because the existing one was not up to Carlos's standard. No cost. We finally drove over to NO last week and I got to meet Carlos. he is a gentleman, a can do kinda guy and sharp as a whip. Our AC is running like a champ thanks to Carlos and his team at Caribbean Breeze. You cannot miss with this company

The guy from Caribbean Breeze Heating & Cooling throw in something that he said he was gonna take care for me. Example is the label warranty on the compressor is five years. He said he would give 10 year label. He was good at giving me warranties and he said he was gonna come back out. He cleaned both of my units and check the units.

Carlos came to my condominium to check out my central AC unit in the attic.  It was running fine, but several other unit owners in our complex were reporting catastrophic failures of AC units, costing thousands of dollars.  I found Carlos on Angie's List and decided to have him check it out on a preventative basis. Carlos returned my call promptly and scheduled an appointment within 3 days.  He came punctually.  My husband met Carlos at the condo and reported that he was extremely thorough, detailed and knowledgeable.  He climbed the stairs into the attic multiple times on a hot day and explained each and every item he would need to fix on the AC unit in detail to my husband.  He also explained some helpful routine maintenance that we ourselves could perform.  He fixed several potentially serious problems with the unit that were code violations in Louisiana and could have caused major, expensive problems within a year or two.  Carlos informed us that many homebuilders after Katrina used substandard labor and materials in this way. Due to a part he needed, Carlos had to come back a second time to complete the job.  But he did so on exactly the day and time he promised.    The total bill for parts and labor came to only $270.  I personally was shocked by how reasonable this was, as he spent so much time on the fix and expended so much effort. I have peace of mind now about the status of the HVAC unit not flooding from the attic into the condo.  I will definitely recommend Carlos to all friends and neighbors, and I will definitely use him again.

Just a great experience. Calls were answered promptly, service was good, Carlos was very pleasant. He continued to work with the air conditioning until it was performing properly and quietly.. He even got a broom and made sure to sweep up after he finished his work.. I would definitely call him again for any heating and cooling needs. Very very professional..

It turned into a bigger job than I expected but they took care of it. I wasn?t there to see the job and I had a third party checking in on it but I didn?t hear about any problems. They probably went out of their way to make sure it was correct because the inspector was coming in to make sure everything was correct.

I called Carlos for my daughter and set up an appointment. She was not only having trouble with the a/c but also with her phone. Carlos was extremely pleasant, understood the problems and was very patient with the phone problem and my daughter's difficult schedule. He arrived and diagnosed the problem and got the replacement condenser the next day. He even came back after replacing it to test it later in the day because my daughter was tied up with work and couldn't get home. He did not charge extra for that and in fact there was a student discount. The total charged was exactly what he said it would be. Carlos explained that the condenser needs to be hosed off frequently which my daughter didn't know. He also said that it's not sized right for the house, so it will be working harder and costing a bit more to run, but that with frequent cleaning it should easily last until she graduates in a couple of years and hopefully can replace it with something more suitable. It was a pleasure to find someone competent and honest and who doesn't try to talk you into replacing when fixing is possible, plus has reasonable rates. We were totally satisfied and highly recommend Carols.

Carlos stopped the leak, replaced the refrigerant, and the cold airflow was restored! Prior to Caribbean Breeze I'd used another service on at least 3 occassions, and each time the service calls were a couple hundred dollars. Not having an a/c in my own home, it never struck me as odd that the prior company had to replace refrigerant each time they performed a service. I knew the system was old and would eventually require replacement, so I thought the prior servicing was extending the life of the system, not just draining my wallet! Surprise, surprise, once Caribbean Breeze stopped the leak and fully charged the system, the level of condensation produced by the system increased significantly, and unfortunately the old drainage tube and rusted collection pan couldn't keep up with the output, and the leakage ultimately shorted out the system. Carlos came out again, assessed the situation, advised that while he could patch things up, he cautioned the problem would recur and I was still looking at replacing the system within the year. After totaling what I'd paid the prior serviceman (approx. $800) plus the $225 I'd paid Caribbean Breeze for the 1st service call, I realized I could have already replaced the interior unit (i.e. airhandler) and saved myself months of trouble. In the end, I thought Carlos gave me a fair price ($1136) to remove/discard the old unit and install a brand new airhandler. Additionally, he replaced the thermostat, brought in an electrician to correct a problem with the electrical connection, and replaced a pvc drain that was also cracked. The unit is now working fine, and I will likely work with Carlos to replace the exterior unit when the time comes.

After a holiday guest blew a fuse from using a hairdryer, my AC unit would not turn on. After replacing every fuse we could find, I called Carlos. He was very prompt (I called around 8:45am and he had it fixed by lunch). He told me several things about the unit, it was very dirty, hadn't been serviced in years and the wiring is not up to code. Since we just purchased the house 7 months ago I had no clue. He did clean the condenser and get it to come on. I am planning to work with him to replace the condenser and get everything to code in the coming months.
