The moulding around the windshield of my 1998 Toyota Rav-4 had come loose and was hanging over the center of my windshield and obstructing my vision. I also had three rock pecks (smaller than a dime) on my windshield.
I called several auto glass repair companies with excellent ratings on Angie's List and all were unable to quote the replacement of the moulding. The quotes I received for the rock peck repair ranged from $140.00 to $190.00. These quotes seemed to be very high for three small rock pecks.
I found Zinsel Glass in the Yellow Pages and called for a quote. I was immediately pleased because an actual person answered my phone call and was knowledgeable enough to give me a quote of $125.00 on both the rock pecks and the moulding replacement. I was able to make an appointment for 8:00 a.m. the following day.
When I arrived for the appointment my car was taken around to the shop immediately. All of the staff members were courteous, professional and extremely knowledgeable about their industry. The work was completed on my car in 1-1/2 hours and the total cost of the repairs was $125.00.
I should note that the rock pecks are still somewhat visible but not nearly as bad as they were. My only concern was to keep them from becoming worse. If you are expecting the damages to be invisible you should discuss that with the company before you have the work done.
