We used LA Landscaping for 5 years. The price went up 7-10% a year with good service. Then 2 years ago, the service went down hill fast and you had to call multiple times to get ahold of the project manager. Most disappointing we had two problem areas where weeds came through the mulch within a week (despite the claim that they dug out all weeds, sprayed with a herbicide and put down a 2 inch dirt layer and 3 inches of mulch). Very sad - they used to be a great company with a great reputation.

I like their design.  The workers were professional, excellent and cordial.  They did a great job and worked hard.  They did everything they said with quality.  They cleaned up the area and came back for feed back.

Using this company was nothing short of a nightmare. While the landscape designer they assigned to my project was nice, she was basically straight out of college and clueless. I guess my small $7000 wasn't important enough for them to send someone more experienced. I hired them to landscape because I was not an expert on plants and landscaping and didn't have the time to learn. I was very specific about my needs and the look I wanted. One of my main concerns was that I had 4 dachshunds, so I needed plants that were pet-friendly, especially for little lowrider wiener dogs. I also wanted something low maintenance. What was installed was a nightmare. It was weedy and thorny and poisonous to dogs and also covered almost the entire backyard (I wanted to keep a grassy areas for the dogs too). I was assure the bougainvillea would grow up the cheap trellises they installed and adhere to my neighbor's shed that is part of my fence line. It never even grew up the trellises. In fact, it was too heavy for the trellises, and they ended up breaking. I specifically said I wanted large, leafy banana trees for shade like I used to have. They screwed that up by bringing in two varieties of bananas which turned out to be dwarfs. I insisted they replace them. When they did, they still used dwarf varieties  in some areas, so I have some spots with pretty, leafy bananas and some with tiny ones that provide no shade whatsoever. I even had to dig some out myself and replace them with ones I found on craigslist a few years later. The plants they put in my front yard died because they weren't the correct variety for the shade present. They also insisted that I needed to install a rain drainage system for my backyard for proper drainage once the everything was installed even though I said I'd never had a problem with that before. It was just the usual inch or two of standing water during storms that saturated the ground a went away after an hour or two. Guess what? $1500 later the new drainage system didn't perform any better than when I didn't have it. When I would call and complain they would act as though it was my problem because they'd done a good job. I ended up ripping out pretty much everything and redoing it myself. Although I knew little about landscaping, my version looked and functioned 1000 times better and was about 1/4 the cost. It still burns me up. Do NOT use this company!
