Citywide Appliance Repair

Citywide showed up on the same day as the service call.  The work was done quickly and effectively.  However, I did not find pricing to be fair.
The refrigerator was the primary reason for the service call and the dryer repair was sort of a "since they're here."  The refrigerator needed a new control board, which was diagnosed quickly and replaced by Citywide at a later date.  The issue with the dryer turned out to be a shorted wire.  For no more than 10 minutes of work in diagnosing and repairing the wire (and with Citywide incurring no costs in materials or parts) the charge was $190.  The tech neither disassembled the dryer (because I already had) nor reassembled it.
Neither the dryer nor refrigerator have given us trouble since the repairs, which is the only reason I might recommend Citywide.  But had I, and not my less experienced girlfriend, been present, I don't believe we would have been quoted such a high price.  I believe she was taken advantage of in this sense.

I had already called 2 appliance repair companies the day before who did not return my calls and still haven't. Citywide called back promptly within 15-30 minutes and scheduled a service visit for the same day. The technician, Jack, did a careful diagnostic work up and determined the water feed was in tact but the ice maker was bad. It was 9 years old. He also checked the water filter that I did not realize I had and had not been replaced for 9 years. He called to locate the ice maker and filter, went to get them and returned and installed both within an hour. He purged the water dispenser and primed the ice maker. Before finishing he checked behind the grate at the bottom of the fridge and found 9 years worth of dust that he carefully cleaned out. He was prompt, thourough and professional and I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others. Plus I now know what maintenance things I need to do to the refrigerator! Add to that that he is a very nice person to deal with.

Easy. He came, looked it over, went out to pick up parts and came right back. He also gave us excellent advice on how we can repair our broken water dispenser. Thanks Jack!
