We called first thing in the morning to schedule an appointment because our line was leaking water through the celling throughout our house. They assured us that someone would be coming by today.
We called around 2:00 P.M. (6 hours after we made the appointment) to get a better estimate of when they will be arriving. They said that "something came up" and that they would not be able to come out today. They were not going to call us. They expected us to wait around the house waiting for someone who obviously was not going to show up.
Completely unprofessional and we will never be calling them again. Called another local plumber and they already have someone on their way.
The quality of work was fine: nothing to complain about there. When the plumber was about to leave, I asked about an invoice and what I owed for the work done. He said he did not have a bill with him, but it should be around $85. He stated that they probably did work for me before and would probably either drop off a bill later or mail it to me. I told him that I had never done business with them, but it was possible they had worked in my home in the past, as I only bought the place a little more than 2 years ago.
It was a strange and completely unprofessional experience. As I said, the work is fine, he was polite and did not leave a mess. But, the plumber had to come to my home 3 times to do one simple job. It felt more like a friend of a distant cousin had stopped by to do us a favor than a professional service call. Right after the plumber came to my home for the second time and the water was shut off, my elderly mother had "an accident". I really needed to get my mother in that bathroom to shower her. The poor thing sat in her bedroom, filthy and half naked, and patiently waited for a half hour or more - while the plumber had to go back to the shop for the second time to get parts to complete the job. I cleaned my mother the best I could with baby wipes, and tried to be patient and polite with the plumber, but I was not very pleased with the situation.
The invoice was mailed 8 days later and the total due was $93.22 - $16.75 for parts, $75.00 for labor, plus tax. I feel this is a reasonable price for the work performed and promptly mailed them a check.
I live in Gretna, which is a small city that is an excellent place to live, with very good public services. I try to do business with companies within our city limits to support the local economy, which is why I chose Boudreaux's Plumbing. When I looked them up on Angie's List, they had only one customer review, which was rated an A - so I figured I'd give them a try. From start to finish, it was a strange and unprofessional experience. And, while I have nothing to complain about concerning the quality of work done, I will not do business with them again. I guess in the future, I will look for more reviews to get a better feel for the business before I choose a company to hire for future jobs.
