Jake's on the Avenue

I called Jake's and spoke to a lady about having a flower arrangement delivered for the viewing/funeral of a friend's mother. We discussed suitable arrangements, and arrived at an arrangement of yellow roses and other flowers to be delivered that day or the next. At the viewing later that day, my wife called from the funeral home horrified and understandably embarrassed at the quality of the arrangement...five roses in a very cheap white plastic basket (similar to a child's easter basket that you see in the grocery store) with a little greenery (not even baby's breath). When I called Jake's to remedy the situation, we were told that that was a suitable arrangement comparable to what we would get from Heromman's or other reputable florists. They admitted that they rushed to order to the funeral home because their driver was already preparing to leave for a delivery at the same funeral home. I left my phone number to speak to the owner, but he did not return my call. Just for the record, others I spoke with who spent the same amount of money with other florists had exponentially nicer arrangements. Obviously, Jakes standard for service and quality do not match up.
