The process was executed to complete satisfaction... there is no way for the intrusion of having major renovations done to a home while you live there to not be a problem, but Tom, his brother Randy and their whole team were always mindful of the situation and attentive to our needs, etc. The only instances of things running longer than estimated were places where we made changes to the plans - and their team rolled with those punches quite well!

We initially contacted Expand, Inc based on a friend's recommendation. He did not show up at our scheduled first meeting, nor did I receive a phone call saying he would be delayed (this should have warned me I suppose). I did get a return call when I called about the missed meeting, we rescheduled, & I met with Mr. Ashley during the middle of June 2011 (approx June 15th or 16th). He was very professional, we spoke in detail about our proposed remodel & he took some photos. I was told that he met with his staff on Saturday mornings, so he should be able to get me an estimate that Saturday (June 18th). I felt that Mr. Ashley understood exactly what we were looking for & at that point, thought he was the front runner of the contractors I had dealt with to that point. I received an email (and two days later a phone call) that there was some kind of problem & Mr. Ashley was going to have to go out of town for two weeks; but they would get me the estimate at the beginning of the week after July 4th. On July 7th, I received an email estimate - but NOT for MY renovation project. Later that day I received an apology email from Mr. Ashley stating that they would send my bid at the beginning of the following week. After waiting another week, I sent an email on Tuesday, July 12th (at this point almost a full month after our first meeting) asking if Mr. Ashley thought that we might be able to get the estimate/bid from his company by the end of that week as we were trying to move forward in securing our financing for the renovations and we needed to make a decision on our contractor. After all of the delays, part of me still wanted to work with this company as they had made the best first impression. After waiting almost two more weeks for some kind of contact, we went with a different contractor obviously. I received ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT by either phone or email to this last email request about our bid and we NEVER received a bid of any kind. At that point, I had to admit that I cannot do business with a company that refuses to communicate or respect their own timelines. I don't know if my remodel was simply not a big enough job to be important (under 30K) or what happened, but I don't think I have ever dealt with such blatant unprofessionalism from a service person.
