First phase of re-sod done well by single man. Second phase slip-shod work by multiple men. 75-80% of sod dead in 3-6 months. Simpson’s only response was “we don’t warrant sod”

After sod was installed we had a very wet winter so yard was never let to dry out. Only small patches of the yard greened up this spring. Most of it was dead as a door knob. I wasn’t asking them to come back and fix it for nothing. I would have payed them even though I believe the dormant sod was in fact dead already. They would not help me out at all and “referred” me to someone else. The covid virus is not an excuse for everything I am not happy at all with this company and I don’t leave reviews good or bad unless deserved! Kitty Faulkenberry, Ponchatoula

We subscribed to Simpson Sod's Turf Management program for a couple of years @$135/month. They were very nice, but just never got our lawn problems and weeds under control. Then they suddenly discontinued their monthly program and abandoned us-with no warning! Spent thousands, lawn looks no better than when they began spraying & fertilizing! So disappointing-will never use them again! So much for customer appreciation!

Didn't schedule scraping and installation.. When I called to ask when they were coming so coordination of sprinklers could be installed they replied " we will be there tomorrow". I requested they wait 3-4 days so I could get the sprinklers installed. Supervisor Robbie dropped off a bobcat early Saturday morning and said he had a wedding to attend but would be back Sunday. I asked him when the sand was coming and when he would be leveling the yard after scraping since the sprinklers were not 100 % completed. He replied I didn't pay for level or sand. My new yard is full of weeds (many I have never seen before), the yard is full of major low spots due to bobcat -all over the yard, there are big gaps in between the pieces of sod. 1/4 of the front yard is either dead or looks dead. I have been told by professional landscapers that it is uncorrectable from the top and needs to be replaced. The 1st employee to look at my yard only looked at the front yard and said they would treat it. The 2nd Simpson Sod employee said it looked horrible and would call the owner. He said the owner would be calling me to come look at the yard. He treated my yard, one side of the back yard is so uneven he was unable to drive his machine in the yard. After no 3 business days of no call I called to speak to the owner, Shelly. She refused to return my call for 4 days and then said she would send over the same supervisor who drove the bobcat all over the yard to haul off the dead lawn. Robbie came over said he recalled me asking him to level the yard but even though I didn't pay for it he did it out of courtesy. He also said I didn't know what I was speaking of because he himself spread sand. There is no sand anywhere under the sod. He said he didn't know why the one side of the back yard was so uneven, and it was unacceptable but would be speaking with the owner, Shelly to take direction. He excused all of the other holes, divets, and low spots as not his responsibility. He tried to convince me the dead looking front was a fungus and would be fine over time, big gaps in sod is acceptable and normal for sod installation, the dead looking grass in the back yards is from my dogs, even though it looks the same as the front except for in 4 small locations which Robbie said were urine burns. I have repeatedly asked for repair only to be put off. April 3rd, the owner, Shelly, by text said they would replace less than 1 pallet of sod in the back yard (the area completely unsafe to run in) and will schedule my yard to be fertilized some time this month. I have not heard from them since (today is 4/12/17).
