Terrible service. I feel ripped off.

(This is homeowner Steve Kelt submitting this review)....Aging equipment placed out in the elements of our region’s brutal heat and humidity conditions, programmed to perform at any moment is not easy to keep running at peak performance. Such is the case with my 10yr old 17kw Generac generator. This hurricane season, it began to show signs of expected component wear-and-eventual failure. When Scott came out for the first call some 6 weeks ago, he was able to get the unit running well, but still discussed with me in detail what problems could now be arising with the unit’s age, and cautioned that we need not jump into what may not be a necessary expense at that time. He recommended a worn battery cable be replaced, at which a follow-up visit with technician (Kaleb) performed a couple of weeks later. Again my generator performed well on testing. 2 days later, the unit failed to crank up and run on its weekly programmed test. Messaging Pan American back in great frustration about my continued problem, they arranged for technician Scott to come back out and continue the trouble-shooting of this repeated unit failure. Even though it was after “shop” hours when Scott called me around 6:00; I offered a re-scheduled visit the next day since it was already so late. But Scott insisted he come look at it while we were still in daylight. He and assistant tech-in-training Justin arrived and went into the most thorough of testing/diagnosing for well over an hour until he found my unit needed a replacement control board (which they had available on the repair van.) Along with some other thorough, vigilant and professional diagnoses (like testing and adjusting my incoming natural gas pressure valve) Scott persevered well into twilight that evening until my generator was back running in reliable, peak performance. I feel this level of dedication and expertise could not go unrecognized…. Thank you Scott (to courteous and efficient service coordinator Cheri) and all the team of Pan American Power.
