I had lost the audio on my TV.  We discussed and decided it was worth the $35 estimate fee to find out.  He found no problem with the audio, but checked the whole set.  He told me to unplug for one minute next time and let it reset.  The problem could have also been with the cable box.

There was no more charge after the estimate fee.  Ray is one of the few people left repairing TV's.  I am glad he is still around to help me out.  He is very professional and honest.  I highly recommend him.

I dropped it off at his home; he works out of his home shop. He charged $45 for complete going over. Purchase a minor part which he hoped would fix the problem. After trying most economical route to repair, he said that didn't do it, and it would need a very expensive board to fix it. He did tell me Toshiba parts for this 2004 tv are difficult to find and they are prone to problems at this age. He did recommend not spending the money on it. I took his advice.

I contacted Ray, as recommended by Angie's List and explained my problem to him. He seemed to be aware of of others having the same problem. He offered some suggestions for me to try to repair it myself. After trying his suggestions, I called him back to tell him that they did not work.. We set up a time for me to take the TV to his place, Which I did.
He called me back in a week to tell me that the costs to repair it probably would exceed the value of the TV. I asked his advice on purchasing a new TV, and he was very helpful with various suggestions. I followed his suggestions to a and quot;Tand quot; and am delighted.
I definitely will recommend Ray and All Star TV and Repair.
