The sales team was fantastic, they'll meet you anywhere at anytime.  They're definitely "yes" people, come educated, and pitched us a very reasonable deal.  I'm a retired electrician and have installed quite a few generator packages myself, so fortunately I knew exactly what I wanted and what to expect.  I lost being impressed after the salesman left as I stayed home the day the generator was to be installed to monitor the installation.  The salesperson apparently forgot to pass on that they were to install an additional breaker box on the exterior side of the home and I spent the morning arguing with the installer that he needed to provide it.  Fortunately for me, I had learned from being burned in the past to get such requests in writing, so after producing the purchase contract, the electrician reluctantly installed the agreed panel, though not in a manner friendly to making conduit connections, blocking the entire bottom of the enclosure with the conduit run to the genset, despite my asking him to reroute, he refused citing it wasn't in the budget.  After the installation, nobody ever came back, not even for the final activation.  Fortunately I was trained on how to do such things and I just handled this myself.  The purchase also included a year of service and maintenance, which we never got.  We called, they opened a ticket, but never came, again I step up on the maintenance.  At the end of the year service contract they finally call us back and offer us a special price to continue the maintenance contract.  At this point we pressed for where the heck were you the last year?  They acknowledge they had an open ticket to come service the genset, but it was never commented on after being opened.  As we had a few days left on the contract, they did finally send someone to service the generator, but made no effort to extend the contract due to their poor service.  Needless to say, we opted not to extend the service contract that didn't provide any service.
Fortunately for us, the generator is much better than the company servicing it.  It hasn't failed us and has run like a champ since day one.  If I had any complaint about the GE generator, is that the hot air exhaust is directed forward and down killing all grass in front of it.
Overall, I can recommend the GE generator in a light use residential setting as a cost effective option, I can't say I have the best support team to backup the sale.

I wasn't happy with them. They weren't sure if the generator could be connected to our heating and air conditioner. Yet they didn't even check to see if it could be connected. This was the one thing we really got the generator for and they never got it connected. They won't even come back to work on it.
