Our air conditioner was not cooling. We called American Air for help. We have used them for many years in our current home, and in our previous home. We weren't expecting the technician until that afternoon, but he was able to get there before noon. The compressor had gone out in our unit. We knew the compressor was old, and American Air had helped us baby it along for a while. It finally needed to be replaced. They gave us several options, and several price levels. We decided to replace the compressor with a new one. The price was very competitive, and they were able to do the installation very quickly. The installation was also complicated by the fact the compressor has to be installed on our roof. They handled that with no problem. All the technicians were very courteous and knowledgeable. The office staff is always a pleasure to work with also. Whenever we have an issue, they are all very responsive, and normally are here within hours or less. Replacing air conditioning units is never a welcomed event, but American Air makes it as painless as possible.

We've used American Air since at least 1990! They work you in when it's an emergency, I've never had to wait another day, they came the day I called. I've only had one service man that didn't work out and the owner came out that day and fixed the problem. That's a great record!! We've had them replace 2 a/c, heater units in 2 homes and run new duct work. They explain what you need and why. We got a cheaper quote from a different a/c man to put in a unit at the house we live in now. He installed the unit and American Air had to come behind him and fix the problems he left. The part that needed replacing had to be ordered and it would take a good week to get it, in the middle of a very hot summer. They replaced the part and gave us a credit for the replacement unit that would go to them, even though they didn't sell that brand. They work with you anyway they can. They call before they come out, I like that! I’ve personally referred other people to them and they were satisfied too. I highly recommend them!!

We have been using these guys since I bought the house in 2000, and they are wonderful! We are under contract with them, and the system had stopped working. It turned out to be a minor glitch, and because we are under contract, there was no charge. This company is very good at what it does! Only once have we ever had a bad experience, and that guy didn't work there long. Overall, we have always been very satisfied, and you cannot go wrong by using them!!

I called another air conditioning company of Angie's list - over the phone, he quoted a 3 ton unit for $1500 to $1600, but wanted to inspect the unit before replacing the outside unit. He had family activities and asked if he could come over around 3PM. He thoroughly inspected the unit - where the American service man didn't appear to know how to test the unit and what the reading should be (had to call someone on the phone) - the new service man was very knowledgeable. He found the contacts were bad and that the capacitor need to be changed. The outside unit was also caked with dirt. He replaced the two parts and cleaned the unit and it cost me $225.00. The lesson of this story - to everyone should be - even if you get a service man on Angie's list - it pays to get a second opinion. I am hopeful that American will return the $90.00 they charged me for the poor job in inspecting my unit!

Called and person showed up in about 30 minutes. Was in and out of my house in less than an hour. Excellent service and left me with cool air!!

They came to the house and were actually about 15 minutes early. The two gentlemen immediately put down a protective cloth over the carpeting and moved any furniture in our entryway so that nothing would be inadvertantly damaged. They estimated about 4 hours to do the job of removing the old air handler and installing the new one. The work was done in less time. They cleaned up well after the job. They were pleasant and friendly and professional. They reviewed with me what they had done and explained the features of the new air handler. They even had suggestions as to what air filters to use to keep the unit working as efficiently as possible. A few days later they sent another copy of the bill showing and quot;paid in fulland quot; and included the Product Registration Confirmation paperwork that they had submitted to Carrier to ensure that the air handler was properly warrantied to us as the homeowners.

They were the only company in the area I could find that could replace the floor furnace without putting in a new central system. The other quotes I received were much higher. They had a particularly hard job and handled it well. There were some problems with the pilot light, which continued to go out. After many service calls, they figured out it was the exhaust. They even called in a factory representative to look at it. I feel they went above and beyond.

After the electrical work and plumbing was done between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m. we found out the air conditioning units were not working, so I found the number to American Air Conditioning and Heating of La., Inc. and called them because I have used them before on many ocasions for my rental house. I really was not expecting them to come out this late, I was just hoping to get an appointment on Monday morning, biut the secretary told me that the serviceman was finishing up another job and he would be right out. He called me a few minutes later to confirm my address and said he was on his way. He was able to repair the small unit but would have to come back on Monday with a helper to find the shortage in the wiring to the air conditioner. I know from past experience with this company that they are fair with their pricing and does a great job. The serviceman was very helpful and courteous.

They are wonderful. The servicemen don't do exactly what they are supposed to call back and talk to Dave and he will come out and make sure the problem is fixed. You can't do any better than that.

I have done a yearly maintenance agreement with them which includes two seasonal maintenance visits. The installed my heating and air conditioning unit last year. I will use them again in the future.

The work was done under warranty and I was having a condensation problem with several of the vents so they taped the vents for no charge. I have used them for 15-18 years and they have always done a great job for us. I will use them again in the future.

My tenant phoned to say the Air Conditioning was not working, maybe something with condensation causing a problem with a switch. I used this company before several years ago so I phoned early in the day on a Friday during a heat wave. I was told they could out the same day, late afternoon time frame. At the end of the day, I spoke with my tenant and was told what they had done. They checked the switch, which was old and could not be replaced, so they re-routed it. They cleared the overflow drain which had become clogged and added the freon that was needed. I then phoned their office. The person answering the phone was professional and quickly gave me a report of the work done and the total cost. I am completely satisfied with their prompt service.
