"The client received what he paid for. He would like a different style latch than the standard. We have spoken with the installer and the home owner. The installer will install whatever Mr [Member Name Removed] would like to have installed. Mr [Member Name Removed] doesn't feel he needs to pay for it. We have emailed and spoken verbally with the client, as did the installer. Mr [Member Name Removed] was even given a website to go on to choose which latch he wants. Once Mr [Member Name Removed] purchases the latch that he wants, the installer will install."
Shutters are nice and beautiful. Installed on time. They are working shutters, but no latches were provided. I have been asking for a year now on multiple occasions, and we have gone through one hurricane season, but still no latches, so we spend a ton on money for shutters that look good but not fit for purpose intended
"On 11/71/14, Door2Door provided a quote to Creative Builders for (member name removed)'s house. The quote clearly stated that "no hardware being quoted at this time." The company that does the installation for Door2Door provides hinges so the shutters work properly. If a client wants something more decorative, the installation team will install them, if the customer purchases elsewhere. The company we get the shutters from does NOT have any decorative hardware. The shutters were made and installed per our agreement with Creative Builders on Feb 2, 2015. At a later date (member name removed) contacted Door2Door concerning the locks for the shutters. We informed him that what the installer had to install is what came with the shutters. If (member name removed) wanted something different, we could sell him something at our cost or he could go online and purchase anything he liked. The installer has contacted (member name removed) to install the original hardware but that is not what he wants. (Member name removed) does not feel like he should have to pay for any decorative hardware and wants it for free. We discounted the original shutters by $2,000.00 to help him get them in his budget. Darren, the salesman, has explained to (member name removed) that we had no extra money in this job and we could not give him the hardware for free. This is not satisfactory to him. Door2Door will still let (member name removed) purchase the hardware at a discounted price, but we will not give them to him for free. It clearly stated that no hardware was being quoted on his quote and the sales order. We have spoken with the installer and he has spoken to (member name removed) and notified him that whenever he gets the hardware, he will return to install it. Thank you, Lisa Ryan Door2Door"
Follow-up 10/16/2013:
I have spoken with the Manager, Lisa Ryan, about the issues and she worked with me to ease my concerns. The installers, I was told, were actually subcontractors who were not employed by Door2Door, and likely won't be recommended by them again. The blinds were a simply case of misunderstanding/blind ignorance. The sales staff was apparently unaware that the add-on blinds would not work on the impact frame. Instead, there are blinds that can go between the outer glass and impact glass that the company offers. After speaking with the manager, I felt like they have the best interest of the company in mind and, in fact, I would consider using them again in the future.
