"Wow! Just WOW!!!! Two hours after Leucy and her assistant showed up, I had an immaculately cleaned home. They mopped all floors and dusted everything--including seven ceiling fans and all of my furniture. They cleaned behind furniture, dusted all blinds (coverings for 10 huge windows and a french door) and made the beds. They dusted the TVs and wiped down all artwork. They left my bathrooms sparkling and smelling freshly cleaned. I don't think there was a speck of dust or dirt left anywhere. I have used various cleaning services in the past, and none measure up to the quality of service provided by Leucy. I am so happy she will return every three weeks!"

Window Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Window cleaning costs around $220, on average, but you could pay anywhere from $150 to $300 or more, depending on the number of windows, how accessible they are, and the type of windows. Some professional window cleaners charge on a per-window basis at around $10 per window, while others provide a single price for your entire home. Either way, more windows will mean higher cleaning costs. Picture windows tend to be the most affordable because they don’t require cleaning of internal components, while double-hung windows and skylights increase your price because they’re more complicated to clean and less accessible.

The best time to clean the outside of your house is during your outdoor spring cleaning. Wait until late spring, after the wave of pollen is done coating your home. You can also wash your house in late fall–before the first freeze–to remove leaves and branches from the gutters.

Professional window cleaners typically use either a white vinegar solution or a commercial hard water stain remover to clean hard water stains on windows. A common vinegar solution for this purpose consists of one cup of white vinegar mixed with a gallon of distilled or bottled water. The pro will spray the mixture and lightly scrub the window with a scrubby pad before cleaning with a standard cleaning solution. Alternatively, they may use a commercially available hard water stain remover and a scrubby pad, followed by a complete cleaning.

Regular cleaning and inspecting seals to prevent fogging and maintain clarity.

The easiest way to remove window decals is to soak the area in hot, soapy water. Let it sit for 15 minutes before scraping it with a plastic scraper or the edge of a credit card. You can also remove window decals with white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, or applying heat from a hairdryer or steam cleaner.
