While the floors were done appropriately, the stair treads were a huge disaster. We kept asking for the treads so our stair maker sound install them allowing us to pass our final move in inspection by the date provided by our mortgage company. If we missed the date, we were going to be assessed a $5,000 penalty and would need to purchase another Builder's Risk policy at the price of an additional $3,500. We were also scheduled to move out of our rental, thus if we missed cutoff we'd have no place to live. We communicated with Randy Delise daily for weeks to inquire about the stair treads and we were told that he was waiting for a special drill bit to arrive so the treads could be milled. Then we were told he was waiting for his guy to make the treads, but we never received anything. Finally, our stair maker advised if he didn't have the treads by a particular date he wouldn't make the deadline. On that specified date Randy called and said he was heading to our house with the treads. In face we needed 18 treads, he showed up with 4. Yes, we were 14 short - that's a problem. The second problem was the stair maker said the treads were not made properly and quite honestly looked like 2nd's meaning they were rejects from another job. Because we were out of time to fight over the issue, we were forced to buy oak stair treads from someone else simply so we could get the spindles and hand rails installed in time to make our deadline. So now I have a $18,000 curved staircase made with oak treads which run flush to the Brazilian Cherry on the 2nd floor. What a disaster. It would cost an absolute fortune to have the spindles and handrail removed to replace the treads so we're stuck seeing Randy's screw up everyday. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DON'T HIRE FLOORSHINE OR RANDY DELISE. HE'S A FAST TALKER AND WILL LEAVE YOU WITH A SCREWED UP JOB IN THE END.
Description of Work: Hired Floorshine / Randy Delise to install Brazilian Cherry floors on the 2nd floor as well and to provide the stair treads to match..
