Rainbow International

My insurance company paid Rainbow International over $11,000 for mold treatment in our house after a pipe leaked. Rainbow International was very frustrating to work with. There is a lack of communication between this company and their customers. For example, they were to work on a Thursday, and finish on a Friday. They never showed up on Thursday, or called. So they were not finished by Friday. We went to a hotel on that Thursday, so we'd be gone during the noisiest and dirtiest part of their work. When they delayed working, we ended up being home during that time. At one point, they left the front hall and part of the dining room encased in plastic for two weeks - but their was no treatment going on. Again, they never informed me if and when they were coming back, or what the game plan was. I always try to be considerate of workers in my home. I make sure they have water and other drinks, make sure the A/C is on a comfortable temperature for their working, and bring them meals if its been a long day. In return, I expect to be treated with consideration. We had one other issue with the tasks they completed (or lack thereof). When I called and asked them about it, they said "Well, we've been paid, so we are finished". Unfortunately, we had endorsed our part of the insurance check the night before ( not wanting the young man who had worked extremely hard here all day to get in any trouble). They said they would have the owner reach out - but it never happened. Communication is such an integral part of running a successful business. If you just let me know what is going on, I'm usually okay with it. If you use this company, I'd advise you to get everything they plan to do IN WRITING. Ask for a specific schedule. and ask them to call you if the schedule changes. I'd also request that they phone you when they are 30 minutes away. In doing this, you would avoid many of the problems I ran into. Photos include area encased in plastic for two weeks, and nails left sticking up in the floor.
