Epperson's Septic Service

We hired Epperson's Septic Service to pump out our septic tank in mid-February. The man showed up after dark and didn't have enough hose to reach the tank. He returned the next day. He didn't know how to use the probes to find the tank -- my husband showed him. He said it was only his second day (his first was the day he showed up after dark) and said he hadn't had any training.Three months later, the septic tank backed up onto our lawn.
I called Epperson's and was told that they would come out as soon as possible and if it was a problem on their end, they would fix it. I was told that everyone who worked there in February, including office staff, had been fired. I was told they had two emergency calls ahead of me, but they would call and let us know when they were on their way. No one called, and no one showed up. I called the next morning and the phone was answered by the owner. She was the most unprofessional person I believe I have ever dealt with. She told me the man who did the job in February was stupid and they shouldn't be responsible for his mistakes. I was incredulous, of course. She said they'd do an inspection for free, but we had to pay for any work. She said, "You don't expect us to do this for free, do you? I said, "H***, yeah." Then she yelled at me for cursing. The calmer receptionist got on the line and told me the same thing she'd told me the previous day.
Again, no call, so I called the next morning to discover the crew was in Wolfe Co. (We live in Jessamine Co.) and had another run in Richmond, but that she would call me as soon as she reached the drivers. Considering I thought I was next in line, I was pretty irked that they hadn't come to my house first.My husband and I decided it would be better to get another opinion, so we hired a company someone recommended. (Not on Angie's List) The company is Hogue and I highly recommend them. Anyway, he said there was a blockage in the line to the septic tank which he fixed. He said an experienced person would have known about the blockage, but there wasn't anything Epperson's did to damage it, which is the only reason I'm not suing to get my money back.

Company did not show up for appt. and did not call.  After we called them they rescheduled us 9 a.m. next morning.  Did not show, did not call.  After several attempts we finally reached someone and said they'd get on it right away - this is in the morning.  Around 1:30 pm, a driver called and said he could not be there till next day - no headlights on truck.  Set time for 9 a.m.  Next day, 8:00 a.m. about, driver called and said he could not get fuel forck nor get in touch with anyone.  We made several attempts to call and also could not get anyone or any response after leaving messages.  I advised driver that we were going to make other arrangements and make report on Angie's list.

They did a great job. They were very reasonable and they showed up when they were supposed to. They are simply amazing. I have 4 different septic tanks, and one of them was under the house, but they got to it. They couldn't get the hose in one tank because concrete had been poured around the pipe and they had to take a hammer and chisel, this was underneath the house, which most companies wouldn't even consider. They were fast and they knew what they were doing.
