Unfortunately I can not give a 0 star review. Kevin was great to work with until he received my deposit. then he quit responding to calls or texts. Always had excuses. Measured windows incorrectly and expected me to be ok with rigging the windows to try to make them fit. Ethical contractors would admit their mistake and re-order the correct size windows. still owes me over $1k. I filed a BBB complaint and Kevin didn't respond to it so his BBB license has been revoked. Good luck if you make the poor choice to employ his services.

They were on time to our appointment for the quote, they were on time to do the job, they were professional and cleaned up very well. I was surprised at how extremely dedicated they were. They didn't stop until the job was completed. I was pleased in every aspect with Colwell.

Kevin Colwell the owner is a very nice and responsive person. Contract was awarded May 25, 2019 work was not completed until August 21, 2019. His employees that did the roof were good and cleaned up the job site. There was 31 squares to be replaced and it was torn off and back on in one day. The employees that were to do the flashing work was very poor. Had to be redone 3 times. Gutter work and siding was okay. Had few minor issues with the gutters.

We called Kevin Colwell for an estimate on replacing our 30 year old roof which was beginning to leak. We called him because of a referral from an acquaintance of ours. She had a lot of good things to say about the work she had done on her own home, adding how reasonable his prices were. The experience was everything she promised. They removed two layers of shingles, did some minor repair to the plywood sub-strait and installed a totally new architectural asphalt shingle roof. It looks great. The work was professionally completed in one day. The price was well within our home repairs budget. We will not hesitate to use Colwell Construction for our next home project and we do have more planned.

He had to drive about an hour to get to my home. I liked his presentation, and hired him to do our roof. I lived her 17 years and never had a leak in my roof. I saw in my garage that I now had a leak, and it was leaking onto my circuit breaker. I called Mr. Colwell, and it took him awhile to call me back. He told me that there was nothing I could do. We discussed the contract I had with him, and that I never got one. He told me that my house had a bad design. Mr. Colwell called me again and said he would help me get that snow and ice off my roof, for a charge of course. His friend got up there and got the ice off my roof. He blamed the siding guys for the leak in my roof. It was still dripping the next day and I called him again. I asked him if he could come out and fix the issue and he never called me back. The next day he called me and said he could come out and fix it, and I informed him that my siding guy came out and made a temporary fix, and he said he would call me back which he has never done. I felt ripped off.
Response from Colwell Construction LLC
"I Kevin Colwell owner of Colwell Construction did try to take care of the problem on {removed member name} roof. I and another gentleman went up there to try and help {removed member name} with the ice and snow up on her roof. A very dangerous situation to clean off the roof, but we did it. I charged her $80.00 to do it. It is 65 miles round trip. I drive a v8 work truck 3500 Dodge with ladder rack and ladders on top and I get maybe 10 miles to the gallon of gas and I paid my helper that cleaned off the roof, I did not make a dime. {removed member name} already had someone who worked on her roof where the problem happened. I did call her the next day and said I could install a cricket with ice and water underlayment in area. Yes, it would cost money to do it. Insurance companies do not pay for any extras on roofs nor do they replace flashing behind wooden siding with one layer roof. When we talked about me coming up to fix it, she told me to hold on, then called me back around 3:30 and left a message saying come up if I can and fix the problem. I am over an hour away from her and it gets dark by 5:30 pm this time of the year. I did not receive any more messages after that. This problem did not have anything to do with my workmanship. We have had plenty of heavy rains and some snow since I did job. The house has a bad detail with valley running into back of garage wall. It was built that way. That’s why a cricket should be installed to divert water away. Contract, if she did not have one, how did she come up with June 20th 2011 as the purchase date. I am sorry she had this problem and I would've been happy to help her and still will but for a reasonable price. This was an unusually bad winter we had. A lot of people had problems with ice damage. I even had ice damage on my own roof. To fix problems like these the temperatures should be above freezing to fix properly. For her to say I did not want to help her and I ignored her is just not true at all. I was paid $6300.00 not $6500.00 I have a copy of her check to me that I will happily fax to you. Thank you. Sincerely, Kevin Colwell Owner of Colwell Construction LLC."

We had a storm that messed up our satillite reception and needed to have it fixed. When the techician came he found a hole in the roof. After contacting my insurance agent I called Mr Colwell to have him look at it. The other side of the roof had be replace previously by Mr Colwells company the previous year. Mr Colwell came out personally the next day and checked the roof and determined that that part of the roof needed replaced due to other missing shingles and damage. He gave me an estimate and I turned it into my insurance. When I got the approval to go ahead with the repairs I called Mr Colwell. It was several days before he returned my call and the following week when his crew came to replace the roof but they did a good job and cleaned up after themselves as they had done the previous year. It was done for the price quoted.
